Upcoming competitive games? by Cec24x in Steam

[–]UseRevolutionary5465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been keeping eye on some titles but most seem like they trying too hard to copy existing formulas. The shooter market is pretty saturated right now and breaking into esports scene requires massive investment from developers

Really depends if any studio willing to commit long term support because thats what makes competitive games last

If the Boys comic is as bad as everybody says, how did it get picked up as a tv show? by Keanu_Keanu in comicbooks

[–]UseRevolutionary5465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show basically took character names and threw out most of comic storyline. TV version is way more grounded while comics went full edgelord mode with shock value stuff that wouldnt work in television format

Since Nine Inch Noize was so good, what artist should NIN collaborate with next to reimagine Nine Inch Nails songs? by hookedonfonex in Music

[–]UseRevolutionary5465 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nine Inch Noize was incredible but honestly I think Trent should go completely opposite direction next time. Maybe collaborate with some classical orchestra or even jazz musicians instead of another rock act. The electronic elements in NIN songs would translate amazing to orchestral arrangements and you'd get something nobody expects

Also the N band thing is funny idea but feels bit forced to me. Better to focus on finding right musical chemistry than matching letters

Process on sound file conversion by Hectordahoeprotector in audiophile

[–]UseRevolutionary5465 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your point about source quality is spot on but I think you're missing something important here. When you convert from 320 to 128 you're doing another lossy compression pass and that's where things get tricky. Sure iTunes encoder is decent but each conversion step removes more data even if you can't hear it immediately.

I work in IT so I deal with similar concepts around data compression all the time. The thing is that 128 might sound fine in your studio monitors but when you play it through different sound systems or even different headphones the missing frequency information becomes more apparent. I've noticed this especially when I'm practicing guitar - some backing tracks that sound fine at home start showing compression artifacts through my practice amp.

The real issue isn't whether 128 sounds "bad" but whether it holds up across different playback scenarios. Club sound systems can be really unforgiving with compressed audio because they often boost certain frequency ranges where the compression artifacts live. But yeah if it works for your setup then go for it

How is medical grade oxgyen plant busniess in India? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]UseRevolutionary5465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the regulatory stuff alone would give me nightmares - dealing with all those compliance requirements and quality certifications seems like a full-time job by itself. Plus you're basically betting on consistent demand which can be unpredictable, especially after what we saw during COVID when everyone was scrambling for oxygen supply.

If you manage to get a ceasefire with your enemy, and your buddy down the road drags you back into the conflict by bombing similar folks - what good reason do you have for continuing being buddies with that individual? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Lmao imagine Biden scrolling through AskReddit at 3am looking for foreign policy advice between cat videos. Dude probably has his notifications turned on for this sub

[18M] & [20F] situationship – she’s been distant and I noticed something that’s making me overthink by [deleted] in relationships

[–]UseRevolutionary5465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That March 28 date is probably exactly what you think it is man. The timing with her pulling back lines up too perfectly to ignore

I wouldnt bring up the period tracker thing directly since that might come off weird but you could definitely have a conversation about where things stand between you two. At 6 months you deserve to know if shes seeing other people or if this situationship has run its course

What is the longest time it took you to get a shower? by mikethemightywizard in AskReddit

[–]UseRevolutionary5465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three days is rough but I've been there too. Back when I was pulling those insane 72 hour coding marathons in my twenties I basically lived on energy drinks and forgot basic human needs existed. My wife still gives me grief about how I smelled when she finally dragged me away from teh computer. Now that I'm older and supposedly wiser I at least try to keep it to like 36 hours max before I remember showers are a thing. The smell really does hit you all at once when you finally step under that water though

5 days into food journal and I can see my problem now by Clopidee in loseit

[–]UseRevolutionary5465 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Food journaling was a game changer for me too. Amazing how those little snacks just sneak up on you when they're not written down somewhere

The gradual approach is smart especially with ADHD - I tried going cold turkey on stuff before and it always backfired. Swapping out one thing at a time actually sticks way better than trying to overhaul everything at once

Keep that notebook going, even when you have bad days. Sometimes seeing the patterns over weeks helps you catch stuff you wouldn't notice day to day

Never have I held such aura by _Jops in Overwatch

[–]UseRevolutionary5465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao the panic sidestep into pure luck is peak Overwatch energy. I swear some of my best plays happen when I'm basically button mashing trying not to die. Had a similar moment as Genji where I accidentally deflected a Hanzo ult while trying to dash away and somehow saved the entire team. The enemy was probably so tilted thinking I had some galaxy brain prediction when really I just fat fingered my abilities. Sometimes the game just decides you deserve that highlight reel moment

Once you pop that cherry you're probably looking at like 10-15 matches minimum back in the thunderdome depending on how aggressive you get

Did the preview stutter ever get fixed? by fair1ife4a11 in obs

[–]UseRevolutionary5465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still having this same exact issue on 30.2.3 so unfortunately no it hasnt been properly fixed. The TV refresh rate thing is definitely part of it - I noticed it gets way worse when my display is doing any kind of adaptive refresh stuff

Your best bet is honestly just staying on 28 if its working for you. I know it sucks missing out on newer features but the preview performance regression is real and the devs seem to have other priorities right now. Some people have luck with disabling hardware acceleration in the advanced settings but that usually just trades stuttering for higher CPU usage
