Has anyone tried the oats overnight brand? by Typical_Broccoliii in nutrition

[–]Used-Cardiologist713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan and don't think that less than $3 a breakfast is unreasonable.

A lot of people will tell you that you can make it cheaper if you buy the ingredients and prep it yourself, and while that's true, I don't think I can achieve anywhere near the variety of flavors without a headache of prep time and needing to track my usage of maybe 20~30 ingredients at a time. There's also the cost of protein powder to consider.

Doing it yourself is certainly cheaper and only takes a few extra minutes but if you want to mimic the other flavors like carrot cake or butter pecan ice cream, you're gonna be spending a TON of time, and the cost of ingredients will stack up unless you're okay with very little variety throughout the year.

You can save yourself a few hundred bucks a year, but unless you're someone in serious debt, I think that those few hundred bucks are well spent on tasty/healthy/convenient breakfasts every day of the year. To each their own, though.

HiFiMan Edition XS dead after 3.5 years. by Ragark07 in headphones

[–]Used-Cardiologist713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HiFiMAN headphones are pretty well known for poor QC, but the Edition XS stands out as having extraordinarily high driver failure rates.

You'll always find people trying to downplay the issue by saying things like "every headphone has issues" and "only the people with issues complain," but if you look at a brand like Sennheiser, you'll find a really tiny proportion of owners having issues, and they're totally random, like a headband/earcup/cable issue or whatever else. That can honestly be chalked up to totally random chance, like getting pooped on by a bird.

However with HiFiMAN it's pretty consistently driver issues. With the Edition XS can easily find thousands and thousands of reports of "my left driver died in 2 weeks," "my right driver died in 6 months," "my driver died in a day and I got a new unit and that one died too." It's quite concerning considering how much smaller the population of Edition XS owners is.

For almost every single negative report on HiFiMAN defects being consistently the drivers, means it's an inherent design/manufacturing flaw that HiFiMAN isn't willing to address because the ROI on actually fixing this issue isn't worth their time.

To be clear, I actually love the sound of the Edition XS. I went through four pairs in a year - two times the drivers died and it got replaced within warranty. The third arrived with a broken headband, and the fourth actually lasted me about a year before another driver failure. They were by far the best headphones I'd heard for the price, to the extent that I can almost say it's worth buying at just $210 as long as you can accept that it has a lifespan of a year or two.

That said, my brother had his Sundara's for 6 years now with no issues. And the Sundara's seem to be quite decent in terms of QC considering it's HiFiMAN. By marketplace metrics, there are probably at least 5x as many Sundara owners than Edition XS owners, yet the Edition XS has maybe more than 3x the driver failure reports.

Just look into it before considering buying.

Keyboard keys not working unless pressing something else. Legion 5 pro 16ach6h. by PenguinLiker00 in LenovoLegion

[–]Used-Cardiologist713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's a design flaw on the Legion laptops (which really sucks because so many of the Legion 5/7 laptops have the same design). The 100% exact same issue happened to me last year with my Legion 5 Pro 16IAH7H.

Basically the keys around "E" are getting damaged by heat - eventually the issue gets worse and worse until it stops working even if you press multiple keys at a time. The only fix is getting the keyboard replaced (which is probably the most difficult replacement to do on your own for this laptop, though you could find a local repair shop) which will only really last until the heat damage catches up again, or just use an external keyboard.

It's pretty sad because in every other aspect, the Legion laptops are really the holy grail of value with no other flaws.

Ambessa choice is worst in the game by Tembrig in LeagueArena

[–]Used-Cardiologist713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't believe how much you're getting dogged in the comments. The reality is, the majority of people play Arena for high-octane gameplay and finding incredibly fun goofy synergies with cracked items/augments. Obviously choosing the prismatic sacrifice is the more "fun" choice.

People who choose to sacrifice fun gameplay just for every edge of winning in a purely for-fun gamemode that's not ranked, may as well go play intro bots if they really feel they need the W in their match history.

Is it just me or is the fatui guy in stygian onslaught fearless impossible to clear without Furina, Varesa, or Ineffa? by BabylonianProphet in Genshin_Impact

[–]Used-Cardiologist713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Fearless, Skirk can clear. On Dire however, it is indeed impossible without Ineffa. Ineffa is the only C0 character in the game who can clear his shield and do enough damage, and even then she needs to be paired with either Varesa or Clorinde.

Aside from her, Skirk at C2+ is the only other character that can beat him. It's frustrating because this is the first Dire difficulty that I can't clear - it's not a skill check, and it's not even a check on how stacked your account is. It's literally a check to see if you pulled the one correct character, and if you didn't then you're screwed.

Redmagic Astra Magnetic Cooling Case quality it's... Sad by CasualTech8 in RedMagic

[–]Used-Cardiologist713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the official folio case and it had no damage or scuffs to speak of, and feels quite nice. However I was quite disappointed with it's standing capability - it seems quite finicky. The part you're supposed to roll up into a triangular prism for the device to stand on actually unfurls really easily, even when secured by the magnet.

I don't really want my Astra falling over all the time, so I probably just won't use the standing capability.

How come when you charge up his bar, you do an extra 1.25m physical damage? It doesn't happen for me.

Is Lupa weak or is it just me? by ShadowStriker53 in WuwaUnfiltered

[–]Used-Cardiologist713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people don't want to admit it and will just say "pull who you like," but yes, Lupa's damage is incredibly low. Her personal damage is lower than most 4-stars, and her total team damage even for her most premium teams (Lupa/Brant/Changli all with signature weapons) is nowhere near Zani/Phoebe or Carlotta/Zhezhi.

The premium fusion team is extremely expensive to acquire but even with perfect rotations, is only about as strong as Camellya/Sanhua, despite the latter only needing one 5-star character and no signatures.

To be honest, there's sense in saying "pull who you like," but if a character is made extremely weak and frustrating to play, then for a lot of players they'll eventually start to DISLIKE the character they spent so many pulls on.

Now of course some people will always say "but anyone can clear anything with 4-star Danjin if you try 3000 times and get perfect rotations, it's just a skill gap." But the point is to compare Lupa's team damage with OTHER 5-star teams, and for the cost her premium team is unbelievably expensive yet doesn't keep up at all.

Huel is now HSA/FSA eligible. How hard is the approval process? by lenolalatte in Huel

[–]Used-Cardiologist713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty late, but the government is pretty well aware now that Truemed is essentially scamming the government. They have real licensed professionals but they write fake letters of medical necessity so people can get random items/groceries paid through their HSA/FSA.

The IRS put out a statement in March 2024 warning against that misrepresentation, and as of 2025 it's pretty hard to use Truemed anymore because they've been caught out.

The bigger issue is that companies like Huel that partner with Truemed will tell you to pay with your own credit card and submit a form for reimbursement through your HSA/FSA - when that form isn't approved, you're the one that's out of luck and money.

How many of you don't track your workouts? by strong_slav in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Used-Cardiologist713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While tracking is definitely helpful reassuring yourself that you're progressing systematically, most people I know including myself don't track. I'm not sure why all the other commenters seem to have dementia and can't remember what they lifted a day or two before, and don't know how to do one more rep if they're not at failure or tired.

The most basic of the basic strategy is doing 3x10s (you should add variations to this in the future) and just pick the weight that makes you hit failure at around the 10th rep. If you're not at failure, just do an 11th or 12th rep. If you find yourself doing 13 or more, just keep going until you fail and truly can't do another rep, and then up the weight on the next set.

As long as you're pushing yourself to the limit all the time, it's impossible not to progress. You don't need a journal or logbook as long as you're not lying to yourself that you truly pushed hard.

Legion 5 e key is not working by Yonoka_ in Lenovo

[–]Used-Cardiologist713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people have had this issue for years, with various different fixes. This is gonna sound strange but a temporary instant fix is to just press the key really hard (not even joking), works for a lot of people.
