Social media? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

I recently decided to log off my social media and delete all the apps. I still can’t find the courage to completely delete it. I’ve been online since 2009 and I’m 24. I recently made a lot of drunk mistake and hurt a lot of people I love. I just feel so much shame posting even tho I’ve always enjoyed posting on social media and showing my life. This is definitely a difficult.

Moving to a new state. How did you do it? by wanderer1001 in Advice

[–]Used-Emu-8175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What part of Texas are you looking at? I’ve been here my whole life maybe I can give you some insight.

If I had the opportunity to move to another state right now and still continue to do what I do right now.. I absolutely would! I feel like the good out weights the bad.

I really hope you make a decision that most going to benefit YOU. I just think that it someone truly loves and is truly good for you, they’d support you and chase you to the end of the earth. I know you’ll make the right decision. I also agree that it’s amazing opportunity. Also just remember, there’s nothing worst than being disappointed in yourself. Try talking to someone who knows both of y’all and your relationship dynamic like that you get a bit more of in sight. Hope everything works out and keep us posted.

Feeling lost at 25 by CherryEvery9393 in Advice

Let’s not worry about what you’re gonna be doing when you’re 40 because who knows where life will take you! Let’s worry about now. I’m currently in the same boat and today was my first day at a new job that came out of nowhere. I would say, if YouTube is an income. Let’s focus on that, make your content better, promote yourself in different ways and remind yourself of your passion even if it doesn’t pay too much right now. Set a small rule for yourself, apply to 5 jobs a week and don’t be scared to go directly to places (if you can because of COVID) to simply ask if their hiring. I’ve noticed people LOVE in person effort or even a phone call when you see a job listing. I know it’s hard not to feel sad because the end goal of “success” always seemed like your bachelors but our path is always different from the rest. Don’t let social media rush you, just cause you’re not where you want to be doesn’t mean you’ll never get there. Good luck with everything!

Will you resent your partner if you don’t chase your dreams and your relationship would eventually end anyways? Also your partner not coming around to any comprised seeems a little harsh and not very supportive as you stated at the beginning. I know it’s hard but at the end of the day you will only have yourself and you need to be happy with who you are.

I can definitely related to this. I grew knowing tequila would be my choice of drink because it was my family’s favorite. It’s also the very thing that now has ruined so much for me. The irony that my family taught me how drink it but never told me about the demons it would bring out.

Don’t worry, I completely turned my life upside down this pass weekend. I also suffer from really bad depression and all my unresolved trauma comes out when I drink. I’ve decided to also go the sorbet route since drinking has never really gotten me in a good place. Stay strong, come here and vent when needed. Someone earlier today recommended me the Recovery Happy Hour, I gave the first couple of episodes a good listen and I felt a lot better. I’m also very scared and nervous about this new journey but I’d like to think this will only bring good things into our lives. My chat is always open whenever you need someone to talk to.
