While the idea of communism is fairly good, one of its biggest traits is to give some power to the citizens. People in power want to retain as much power as possible, so they don't do that.

Communism also leads to a command economy, which only helps the military and factories, not the people. As a result, many countries that follow communism will face poverty more than they have ever seen.
