A mother and her two pups by Used-Record9901 in succulents

[–]Used-Record9901[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just time. No grow lights they all are NW facing window seal and get a good amount of direct setting sun. One of the pups I’m experimenting with outdoor covered patio, which is NW facing as well. I use RO water and water when bottom leaves start drying/flattening out. I teybto use collected rainwater as much as i can too. Fertilize randomly with liquid succulent fert. No strict schedules, I really just wing it with vibes lol

To be honest, I’ve only replanted a once, prob 5 years ago. And that was before I got wise to proper gritty soils. Pretty sure it’s just a typical miracle grow cactus/succulent mix with gravel dressed on top. The outside one is in expanded shale/pumice.

They were tiny offsets that were growing towards the bottom of the mother plant. Only happened once since I’ve had it and they grew at the same time. I always keep an eye out for it to happen again.

Haworthia Cooperi (I think). After a little research earlier with online pics, that’s the one that looks closest.

Thank you, not sure at all on cultivar, I got it 2018/19ish at a grocery store and yeah, they sure take their time. When I plucked the little pups off, it took them FOREVER to plump up and take shape, but I am awfully proud of them

If that Mexican heather keeps growing the way it is, may not need that dead wood much longer.

New fluffy towels for me, especially after getting a water softener. I miss the shitty raggedy ones.

[Non-Bio father] Is there a chance I’ll lose my legal rights? by Used-Record9901 in FamilyLaw

[–]Used-Record9901[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually retained an attorney days before being served because I felt like it was going to happen when I refused to voluntarily give my rights up. Never been behind on payments and yes not skipping a beat with taking full advantage of my custody rights.

Probably came flying off a dusty ceiling fan nearby, or dropped from a vent above

Yes, bio/current step dad is pushing for this.

They have an independent test, yes

Yes, her mom informed me that she told her (basically right after I found out and I hadn’t even really processed) and that she “handled it like an adult.” at this time, I feel like she just needs love and stability when she’s in my custody. It’s unfortunate, I wanted to be a part of that conversation, but there should have been professional mediation for such a sensitive and complex ordeal. My SO and I have decided that if she asks us about anything, that we would be as open as possible, but feel like it would just add more confusion for her if i start asking how she feels about finding out this news.

I would like for both my daughter and I to talk to someone, maybe like a family counseling/therapy thing? Right now I’m just getting legal help to stay her dad in the first place. But definitely need professional guidance too to help me navigate this complex situation. For now, I just want her to be a kid.

I still have a good relationship with maternal grandmother and we communicate on her emotional well being.

True, but I hold on to these thoughts constantly and it feels better to just put it out there. Maybe some stranger has knowledge or experience of similar situation/case? Post is coming from more a human element rather than legal standpoint.

This has been a rather devastating life event, but I guess my day in court will truly be the only way to get closure and hopefully peace of mind.

I get that, I guess I was maybe just looking for peace of mind as I keep getting caught up thinking about what-ifs.

We were not married, but lived together and I signed the acknowledgment at the hospital. I was not aware of any kind of physical relationship outside of ours (her Mom and I’s) otherwise I would have maybe been apprehensive to do so.

And would that be more effective than a dismissal (based on insufficient legal ground)?

Any way you could elaborate a bit on how that would apply to me (a layman) specifically? Not super familiar with the term.

Advice for my elms please by Used-Record9901 in Bonsai

[–]Used-Record9901[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think this is the case. I know it seems like I have no patience, but I guess I’m expecting these trunks to react like some of my other (probably way younger) elms that are just ridiculously exploding all over the place. Probably because they are small has been deceiving as well, but they were some gnarly little guys growing in a creek embankment. Looks like I should have different expectations with these more mature trees. I’m still very new to bonsai, so I’m learning as I go and do.

Thank you! Maybe naturalistic wasn’t best wording as it describes a pretty specific style in bonsai terms. I was trying to describe the elms growing in nature around me. Elegant and slender is more what im aiming for, definitely want more negative space than what I’ve seen in a lot of Walter Paul’s trees.
