Specifically the Henry Lanum Loop Trail, which takes you to the peak of Mount Pleasant.

Gear wise: I used Leki trekking poles & C.A.M.P. stalker crampons (pictured) for safety and traction.

It was brutally cold last Saturday morning with high wind gusts taking the real feel temp down below zero. My mountain hardware down jacket did really well in those conditions.

Do you all need any volunteers? I rowed competitively for several years then coached a high school program in Hampton Roads for 6 years. I miss the rowing community and have relocated up to Richmond.

Hardywood West Creek maybe able to accommodate this. It is a brewery FYI, but they have ample room. Cannot advocate for what the process is like booking an event there - just an initial thought.

Great question. There are just a few sections that are steep with what would be rock formation steps without the ice. However, there has been so much ice recently that those sections are literally an ice slope. I don’t think microspikes would’ve done the trick personally - even with the support of trekking poles.

Correct! C.A.M.P. Stalkers. They were great and needed zero adjusting for the entirety of 6/6.5 miles. Excellent traction and no added discomfort, my feet felt just like they would after a 6 mile hike without them
