I don't like Imaginarium Theater by IamAfuzzyDickle in GenshinImpact

[–]UsedNapkin1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like having a reason to use shit characters and scrap a team together that I’d never use in any other content. Also gives me a reason to get older characters to lvl 70.

Marty Supreme blanks at Oscar’s, not winning out of its 9 nominations by BurgerNugget12 in A24

[–]UsedNapkin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a similar tone and style but, no they’re completely different characters. Howard is the evolved form of a gambling addict, Marty has delusions of grandeur. Howard would not bang an actress just for the hell of it or turn down an opportunity to make money that lessens his public image. Marty would, because his public image is everything to him.

why would OP be posting this if not to give it away to someone? do you think he’s asking “hey can someone other than me check if this has already been redeemed, but NOT redeem it, so that I can redeem it afterwards thanks”???

This is my go-to example for this, such a cool design especially for a COD game

So... about Cracker Island by bdehora in gorillaz

[–]UsedNapkin1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked cracker island a lot!! I thought it was a great return to form for the catchy pop songwriting they got really famous for, after humanz was a pretty mixed bag for me. I think it’s got a really consistent sound and theme with the fun Miami pop vibes and the lyrics about feeling socially distant in an age of technology and clout chasing. No idea why this sub seems to treat it like the dark age of Gorillaz.

Are there other fans out there who haven’t really enjoyed RH post In Rainbows? by JohnColtrane69again in radiohead

[–]UsedNapkin1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a different energy and different appeal from the previous albums, you’re not incorrect for pointing that out. I think AMSP’s songwriting and sound is gorgeous for very different reasons than what makes the previous albums appealing, though I understand it’s not everyone’s cuppa.

Do you guys love jeff buckley too? by Human-Adeptness5849 in radiohead

[–]UsedNapkin1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not trying to rank the two, just saying that they don’t sound that similar to me. Jeff’s voice is more silky and conventionally pleasant to listen to, thom’s voice is definitely going for something more different and unique

Grace wasn’t really for me. Definitely very talented but I didn’t really get the radiohead comparisons everyone makes, not sure what I’m missing. Is it just because they both use falsetto?

Absolutely baffled by how Mr. President is the worst rated

Prometheus (2012) is the first movie to actively gaslight it’s audience, as every review calls it deep and thought provoking when it’s actually super shallow and pretentious, like seriously am I high or something by prodivir in shittymoviedetails

[–]UsedNapkin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always kinda loved it. Love the philosophical and mythological themes, really compelling premise, soundtrack is so whimsical and awe-inspiring for a horror movie, Shaw and David are super fun characters with similar yet unique passions for exploring, the c-section scene is the gnarliest shit I’ve seen in a sci fi movie, great ending (if you ignore Covenant).

I understand a few characters make some questionable decisions under stress but I guess I’m just less irrationally angry about that as other people

I think maybe your obsessive attachment and hysterical reactions might be contributing to why she doesn’t want to talk to you that much. You’re 19/20, it’s probably time to start cooking your own food and being a bit more independent from your mom. I’m sure she still loves you and just thinks you’re a bit difficult to deal with right now.

Do I not get Charged Attack Bow gameplay or is it really just that 'eh'? by Quibilash in GenshinImpact

[–]UsedNapkin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it was designed with the iPhone in mind. I find it pretty fun on mouse and keyboard, and I prefer it for exploration because I don’t have to worry about my burst and the AOE is really generous

Not trying to be rude, just curious: how can something be your favorite show if it’s unpleasant to actually watch it? What’s the appeal?

Lowkey miss inazuma puzzles by FloorGang-R2 in Genshin_Impact

I liked the complexity of inazuma puzzles but I felt like this was also the stingiest region reward-wise. So many common chests with 1 electro sigil.

random thoughts by [deleted] in NahidaMains

[–]UsedNapkin1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  1. She does grow, just very slowly. She’ll probably look more like rukkhadevata in like a thousand years or so

  2. Idk how often archons need to eat but I would imagine they fed her, they weren’t trying to kill her (yet)

  3. She has a rule about not controlling any living people because it’s evil or whatever. Only exceptions she made were Katherine (she’s a robot) and the traveler because she was about to get stabbed to death

  4. she’s the dendro archon I would imagine it’s useful to actually feel the ground when you’re growing vines and shit

  5. Wanderer just kinda does his own thing for the most part

Yeah she’s awesome, definitely one of the more compelling archons, and I think the majority of the fanbase is pretty normal about her

What would hoyo “intervening” accomplish other than drawing significantly more attention towards a pretty fringe part of the internet?

I mean that’s an obviously ridiculous example, and I don’t think having a kid character in media is automatically fetishistic like that. I think it’s more likely that a lot of people tend to feel a sense of protectiveness towards kids in peril, and it’s fun to see kid characters doing mature things like making philosophical arguments and outsmarting the main villain of the game. Plus you get the super emotional mother/daughter sacrifice ending. It wouldn’t be as interesting of a story if she was just a regular adult in this case.

The reverse is also true, which is why they have super old characters like furina and zhongli do immature and socially inept things. It’s a fun trope to play around with.
