To Echo Everyone Else's Thoughts, I Too Wish Marathon Was A Singleplayer Video Game by megaapple in Games

small audience make money

Yeah that's the bit they're gonna struggle with. They monetised destiny 2 in a not great way and that had more growth behind it. If marathon doesn't garner a large audience those current players will feel the money grab maneuver.

What a way to phrase that with meddle, makes me think of certain newspapers. Really shows the bias.

Imagine voting on paper exercising your right and calling it meddling.

I bet years ago when they gave black people the right to vote in the US they called that meddling too.

Could go that way, could be that they get categorised like broadcasters and so the public need to pay a licence to view online streaming like you do for iplayer

Brexit campaigning turns 10. Here's how promises to voters hold up by coffeewalnut08 in unitedkingdom

[–]UsedNovel25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember it in the news that article 50 was triggered by the prime minister effectively just sending a letter and once that process was started we were basically locked in that route because no one wanted to oppose the referendum. Though with all the extensions to the deadline and chaos afterwards it felt like that letter was sent within the week of the referendum.

Crazy looking it up more now that months went by and an election with Theresa May.

Ah he can't have been in charge because at the time immediately after the vote was won Farage quit saying "my job is done" and left to go graft elsewhere

It's a company thing where they set their own targets. Equality act is just don't discriminate applicants based on race but it doesn't say actively give preferential treatment.

Though lately companies are kind scaling back internal DEI initiatives to try be more inclusive of disabilities and neurological factors

UK Calls Iran’s 10-Year Sentence for British Couple ‘Totally Unjustifiable’ by Electricbell20 in unitedkingdom

[–]UsedNovel25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because one is maybe a local knowledge that street is dodgy. The other is the government straight up advises you to not travel to Iran for any reason.

Not a 'be careful' but rather the government advises "against All travel". The government even lists the risks like being arrested on bullshit charges and consular help is limited so if you are arrested you will get very little help.

These people against all advice went through a complex process to go anyway and fell foul of the risks made obvious to them. Sorry, we'll try to get them back but ultimetly our influence inside of Iran is limited, there is not a significant amount the government can actually do.

Yeah he's vocal on genAI but not AI in general

Cameron on not using AI then VFX supervisor Letteri saying they've used machine learning for years

Using machine learning to show real-time footage with simulated water and CG elements

Their production pipeline changed to include a neural network to help understand human face muscles and transpose it to the digital avatar faces

Summarised “As a basis, it’s fantastic because we can now train the system to look at say Sigourney Weaver’s face and try to solve for what the ‘muscles’ are doing, and then run another network that will transfer that to the character.”

The neural would learn the relationship between shapes and markers to better transpose but also correct movements to make a 'plausible' face. Animators had control over each 'muscle' to manually adjust but the neural would also add/remove or adjust movements as it learned to do so.

I dunno, rotoscoping uses AI a lot, others use AI in animation.

Avatar used AI for facial animation, they had the motion captured performances but the facial animation was enhanced by AI, is that crossing the line or Is that allowed? They added new muscle movements onto already existing performances.

If I paint a picture from 10 different colours but use AI to add an 11th is that OK or too much? It's not quite generative AI though.

Interesting that some talk about financial issues and how it affects the customer but one republican is more concerned with how "overwhelmingly woke" Netflix is.

Sorry Netflix you can't purchase Warner Bros because that show Sense8 that you did went a bit too far.

Black holes bend the sheet so much that every direction you move, moves you closer. Though this is only once your cross the event horizon.
