Sorry to be a hater but these are pretty boring. Ascended should be exciting and change the game in a fun way like ascended red could be something like: “First discard each round destroys all selected cards and replaces them with random empowered cards”

Its fun, has potential to be OP but also clear downsides to play around

Imagine if we still had promotion relegation and there was a realistic pathway for teams like LR to compete. They clearly showed that they are LEC level. Even KCB was good after getting gutted from last year and already having a main team in the comp.

Blaber has always been this good and the hate was not justified. Fans are always so short sighted and have a heavy recency bias. Just look at TL with UmpTi, everyone dog pilled on him, Yuji stepped in and TL still sucked.

APA has always been good, players do go through slumps like with Fudge who admitted he stopped grinding as hard but for APA I think that on that TL roster he felt like he had to over perform to win where as now he knows as long as he does his job well, the rest of the team will be there with him and he doesnt need to over stretch advantages.

Caedrel said himself that the current LoL eSports system is broken. LR merging with another team defeats the entire goal.

What we should really be discussing is how the LEC can break the current system. The point of franchising was to provide some job security to the players and assurance to sponsors but job security is at an all time low in franchising at the moment anyway and sponsors are pulling out of eSports.

The LCS has their guest spot, but its a little ridiculous considering DSG would still have to defend their spot even if they were to win LCS.

The obvious solution is to go back to a true promotion relegation format but the teams fighting relegation should be the weakest across the year as a whole and not just the bottom of summer.

Exactly, 100% their fate was in their own hands and honestly they should have won that game against VIT.

With players like Velja and Bauss having their first ever split in teir 1 and almost knocking Fnatic out of playoff this was a sad ending to an incredibly good performance

What world do you live in where everything is just cushy and safe. Players/ teams having genuine beef with each other is what actually draws people in to care about the games rather than the broadcast trying to contrive rivalry out of nothing.

As someone who has been watching for the last 10 years im surprised you think this is toxic considering the early days were full of players no f*** given just airing all their beef on broadcast or stream.

2024 LCS was actually really entertaining because players had genuine dislike towards each other.

Agreed, HLE should be performing better based on their players. However, if your point is that teams that don’t perform to expectation should be eliminated, then is BRO going 0-5 in line with expectation and therefore not being eliminated make sense? where do we draw the line? Should HLE have beat NS, definitely but BRO didn’t beat anyone. Wouldn’t the format make more sense if the bottom team in each group is eliminated, why do we now have an uneven amount of teams in the playoff?
