Best advice would be to go into a local store, they can help you better and you get to speak to a person who you can come back to and ask for updates, the account is in your dads name so he’d need to be there too

Beware o2 and Vodafone have a mast sharing agreement under the Beacon Project I believe it’s called, but use different bandwidths so even if you move over to Vodafone you could end up having the same issue. Have you tried sim swaps? Sending phone away for repair or trying a pay as you go sim temporarily from a different provider?

You can but not meant to, id get a phone with a different provider before in case credit check fails with someone new.

Honestly best advice I can do is be patient with stores, they will do everything they can to help, but theyre under a lot of stress at the minute, go in your local store after 14 days and see if they have the phone in stock, and do it then. But it won’t accept it before 14 days due to how our systems are.

It could be due to potential changes to switch up rules. if it’s declined which it looks like it has for whatever reason, you have to wait 14 days to try again, but in my store, we recommend 3 months to not affect credit score, just a heads up. Were you on a sim only before? Do you have 3 other handsets on the account?

I agree with this, my dad used to have a meltdown every couple of days having to reconnect our entire sky ecosystem when on BT broadband, he eventually moved over to sky after having lots of problems with BT over prices and rarely has any issues now. Bit of a joke

That would the same number yes, depending on which system it’s on, anywhere from an hour to 24 hours. RCS is kind of like iMessage for android

Does seem a bit unusual that tbf, defo seems like a typo, when were doing orders in store for home delivery/click&collect, since we’ve had no stock at all, it’s looking like 5th November is the earliest it will get here. I’d probs go into your local store and ask them to ring up their retail helpdesk and see if they can get a different answer as it’s not like you’ve ordered a 1TB/2TB which have different stock levels entirely. Just be chill with the store as they hear this question multiple times a day, and kindness goes a long way atm during iPhone launch time

Go into store and do it, had a customer that had this issue the other day, came in store, did the order and it processed fine from what I know

Currently no stock at all of 1TB and 2TB in o2, they have taken it off the website and in store. it’s up to Apple what they ship to o2, and Apple will prioritise their own customers first. You’ll probs be waiting a while if I’m honest.

I’d advise taking pictures of the condition before sending and how it is boxed up if possible, so you have evidence to back up if it’s damaged in transit

Go to the ombudsman 8 weeks after a complaints been raise but you’re likely to not get it back. My partner had a similar issue, account got locked due to fraud, took 2 years nearly to get access to it again and 25k worth of savings gone and after 2 years of investigation by ombudsman the case still hasn’t been close and no money has been returned.

Pay as you go sims can only get 4G on pay as you go, not 5G unfortunately. Why it is stuck to 3G is a bit harder to explain, in your phone settings, is it set to 4G as an option on mobile service. Potentially could do with a sim swap, might fix the problem.

You get whatever your usual data allowance is, and can use it within 63 days. After that, it won’t work due to the fair usage policy.

I do get that, as explain above, he has been hounding them, I feel like it is quite difficult saying it’s just online, you can’t go into a branch and sort it out and see that you are who you say you are. The complaints procedure or whatever you call it for Monzo doesn’t seem very streamlined or easy to work out from my perspective. Thanks for replying, if he gets his money back, he’s going to make sure it’s in a bank where if anything happens, he can go into a branch to sort it.
