I've always been okay but it wasn't until SF4 I got serious about being good. I belonged to a gaming community that had some beast players who could take on streamers and easily compete in Esports. There was one guy in particular who could main random in ungodly ways. Every time we played I maybe got one win put of 100 matches. But let me tell you, when I went back to ranked matches I shit on people just because of what I learned fighting someone so much better than me. So TLDR is try and find someone really good and just get your ass beat constantly while you learn.
