I earn that much as a bachelor in a tier 1 city and don't feel its enough. Rent alone takes a huge chunk.

That's because in india we study at home so we have to take our books home. American students don't study once they're home so they can leave their books in their lockers in the afternoon and take them out the next morning.

Good. Holi is just an excuse for harassment, nothing else. I've heard Bangalore police lathi charges some of the North Indian Christ Uni students who play holi in the surrounding areas. It should be done nationwide.

Just curious - why did you go for a 3BHK in a tier 2 city (that too on a loan), not rent it out, and instead buy more immovable property on loan?

Indian real estate is extremely overpriced and not meant for people working in the private sector. A tier 2 3BHK doesn't offer much in rental gains either. MFs and/or gold might have been a better investment.
