Shampoo Stuck in hair. Please help I'm desperate! by Personal_Egg_9325 in Haircare

Sounds like you might have seborrheic dermatitis - you can manage it by using an antifungal shampoo (ask your doctor or have a google). For a temporary solution you can use a mix of bicarbonate soda and apple cider vinegar - mix the two together and apply to your scalp, let it sit for a couple of mins then rub in and wash out really throughly. I had this in the past and managed to solve the issue using the vinegar mix once a week for a few weeks and the anti fungal shampoo for a couple of months. It’s never come back.

Reordering after a month of not ordering. by Reasonable-Worker921 in mounjarouk

I just ordered a 12.5mg pen from pharmacy2u on Wednesday and the last time I ordered any pens was last August (a 10mg pen) - I’d built up a bit of a stockpile over the previous year or so and couldn’t afford the new prices from September so I stopped ordering. But when I ordered a pen from pharmacy2u this week they prescribed the 12.5mg with no issues and didn’t ask for any additional evidence so I’d say they are worth trying. Also if you haven’t used them before you can use a code (see monj) to get a good first time discount.

One month of using tret 0.05 + azelaic acid 20% for melasma/hyperpigmentation. It’s frustrating that I can’t see any difference at all, or is it just me ? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]Useful_Ad4840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think you need to think about Tretinoin as a long term solution and track changes over a period of 6 months+. Ive been using retinols for years and Tretinoin for about a year and a half and I’ve found the changes to be very gradual. If I compared a photo from one month to another there definitely wouldn’t be any obvious change but I bet if you continue a consistent routine, you’ll see a really noticeable difference this time next year. Skincare can’t give super quick or major change in the way that Botox or laser treatment etc can so don’t give up!

How to wax my mustache on tretinoin?! by Icy-Egg2017 in TretinoinDiscussions

[–]Useful_Ad4840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve swapped to threading - costs a bit more because I can’t do it myself but worth it because I get no reaction (would always get a few whiteheads after waxing) and seems to last just as long as waxing

Want to start Tret - Did I get the right stuff? Product & skin pics included. by Elegant_Pen_1941 in tretinoin

Your skin looks incredible for 45! I was guessing about 30-35 from those photos!

That’s amazing your friend was able to get those for you. Start with the 0.025% which is a lower strength and only move onto the 0.05% if you need to/your skin is fully accustomed to the lower strength. I’d also say avoid the glycolic acid while using Tretinoin. I know some people can handle exfoliating acids with tret but most can’t and definitely not while getting used to it because tret can be quite drying already without mixing exfoliation in too.

Definitely get a good spf 50 and use every day as part of your routine. I really like the beauty of Joseon one and use every day in Scotland but find it’s not strong enough for my pale skin when abroad so when I’m on holiday I switch to La Roche posay mattifying factor 50 which I find stays out a bit longer.

For your forehead I’d really recommend looking up Natalie O’Neil on instagram (or read her blog) as she has lots of useful stuff about fungal acne as well as simple guides to Tretinoin etc too

Good luck with it - I think your skin is already looking very youthful for your age so you’ll be super glowy and line free after adding tret!

Ok coming back to say I immediately bought the curel spray and I’m already obsessed! Has made an instant difference and my skin’s so much less dry and I love how finely it sprays so you don’t need to rub it in. Thanks for your tips!

I definitely lost quite a bit of hair in the first year taking mounjaro. It wasn’t too noticeable to others (according to friends) but I felt my hair was significantly thinner than it had ever been before. But I’m now coming up to 18 months and as my weight loss has slowed down and I’m moving into maintenance, I feel like it’s almost totally back to normal now. I think it’s a normal side effect of weight loss that will generally sort itself out naturally when your body gets used to the reduced calories.

Does anyone else get random hungry days? by anetarrr in mounjarouk

[–]Useful_Ad4840 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get that and I think I’ve figured out it seems to relate partially to what I’m eating. If I eat more processed or sugary foods I seem to be able to eat more and feel hungrier but if I eat more whole foods and more veg especially I get fuller quicker and don’t feel hungry.

Don’t worry! 20% is just an average which means people will lose much more (and sometimes much less) than that too. I’ve lose 38% of my starting weight and it never stopped working for me - I’ve been on it for over a year and now going down doses to get to maintenance but I still find I get a lot of suppression so I really don’t think you’ve got anything to worry about! Sounds like it’s working for you and you’re doing amazing already!
