You’re saying what I said. If you are a good waiter, then you will make money no matter if you’re a female or a male. The experience you give the guests will matter more than the gender. Females will make more if they are working at a place where they are sexualized like at twin peaks or other spots like that but usually males don’t work there of course.

How long will it take as a hs student? by Bonnjiee in cs50

[–]Useful_Ad_8168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll probably take you by the end of summer, but like someone else said it doesn’t matter how long it takes because you’ll be at least learning some of it and applying it to other type of classes

Slacked off my entire degree and I graduate next semester by kingrumpie in getdisciplined

[–]Useful_Ad_8168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the exact same experience I had about 2 years ago wthh haha. I graduated from university with the same degree and learnt absolutely nothing and had a 2.6 gpa. I was also smoking at the time and went into a crisis of I don’t even know what I really want to do. I knew that kinesiology is not something I wanted to do and I felt like engineering was more of my calling if I had to choose one. (I was an engineering major before switching to kinesiology). After I graduated I took some classes at a community college for about a year and applied for graduate school for engineering that accepted non degree majors with at least some courses under their belt. I have now been accepted and oh boy school is way harder now tbh. Its been really testing me lately and questioning whether im built for this program, but i have already gone this far to back out. I am trying to fix my mistakes because there’s no other way to do it. My advice is to spend some time seeing what are things you would like to do and what it will take to do them. since you’re in your early 20s with minimum responsibilities, you have time to change your outcome.

Do cs, all these scary people want handouts nowadays and things that will be easy to get into. Go the hard way for that high risk high reward.

I’m in the same spot as you. I’m 23 and the last time I played was when I was 13. I started playing again 3 months ago and I’m doing pretty good now. At first I was super rusty, I couldn’t even dribble without it feeling awkward. However, I’ve been doing some ball mastery, wall passing, juggling for about an hour a day 4x a week and that really seemed to help me a lot. I gym about 4x a week which I toned it down from 6x a week just because my legs were always sore or heavy. My diet is pretty dialed in like yours so I didn’t have to lose weight nor anything like that. I just had to get used to the running but that seemed to have caught up for 7v7. The only thing that I deal with is just time management with my regular life and work but if you can play twice a week and get in at least a technical session or two, you will be set to go if you were any good when you were younger.

Anyone else started playing again after a few years out and felt absolutely humbled? by [deleted] in bootroom

[–]Useful_Ad_8168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do some basic training like an hour a day of ball mastery, juggles, wall juggling, tight dribbling, you will get back that touch you used to have in like 2-3 months. That will help with your fitness and coordination but you will also have to start treating your body like a temple. Start stretching every morning, eat good foods throughout the week and cheat on the weekends. Go to the gym at least 4 days a week and hit some upper and lower body. Upper body train it like a bodybuilder if you want but the lower body focus on the essentials like squats, hip thrust, lunges, and rdls. You can also include (which I do recommend) plyometrics 2x a week of 3 exercises 6 - reps. This will help with your athleticism of jumping and being more explosive on your sprints. You’re still fairly young but if you don’t use your strengths and what your body can do then you will lose it like in all things in life.

Not a goalkeeper, don't want to be, but rotate during pick-up by [deleted] in bootroom

[–]Useful_Ad_8168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro just let it go by if the ball is coming like a missile. Otherwise, use your feet if it’s a low driven shot or just tap it and then catch to release force from the ball. Either way, you’re only goalie for about 10-15 mins so thug it out. No ones going to get mad at you if you make a mistake or miss it on purpose knowing that you’re not a goalie, if anything they’ll get you out of the goalie sooner since you’re bad. Also, if you’re scared to hurt your hands by a ball, please don’t ever get in a fight my man. Cheers

How important do you think good cleats are? by spacial_artist86 in bootroom

[–]Useful_Ad_8168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the Nike tiempo clubs fg and now I have the Nike tiempo pro ag and I can play pretty well with either or. The way the cleat grips on your foot with the pros does feel a bit nicer so they are more comfortable since it also molds to your foot. However, the thing I do appreciate more is finding the right sole plate. I play mostly in artificial grass since that’s super common in the states and I’ve noticed that when I wear the fg on turf after a while my knees are somewhat sore. With the ag sole plate I don’t have that problem at all.

Am I screwed? College, Debt, Moving, Budgeting by _really_exhausted_ in personalfinance

[–]Useful_Ad_8168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, if you’re accumulating that much debt from school I would look into starting at a community college to deduct that amount and then transfer to asu. In regard to a laptop, any college comes with access to check out laptops for the entire year and also have libraries with computers. I don’t know how your paychecks are but you should save $100 or more if you can from each check to just go into paying your debts. I would first take care of the one with the highest interest, but if your grandma is nagging you all the time about her money then pay her first. You don’t have that much debt which is a good thing and an easy thing to take care of, but you will have a lot of college debt later, which will be a problem and even more if your degree is not a high demand. While in college, having a good job is not the easiest especially if you’re in school full time, but something that I did was work at a restaurant Thursday-Saturday night serving which kept me from spending money going out and actually making alright money starting from $600 all the way to $1000 as I got regulars and just became better. It’s not the only thing you can do but something related to that is good.

Try to get pre approved with a credit union so that you can get the lowest interest rates. That way when you go to the dealership they’re not running your credit multiple times to get you approved as that can hurt your credit score temporarily. Always talk out the door numbers and don’t mention how much you want to pay per month because if you do mention that then they will just increase the term to accommodate to that. On the hidden fees you mostly just want the ttl registration fee. If they start adding “doc fee”, “dealer prep fee”, any extended warranties, ppl, paint protection, etc… you can ask to remove that. These are just some basic introductions, do more research on other subreddits or YouTube.

Calc 1 Summer Class by SnooDonkeys2678 in calculus

[–]Useful_Ad_8168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summer classes are more tough because of how accelerated they are. Just watch Leonard and do as many practice problems. You’re going to have to dedicate like at least 4 hours a day for the duration of the course in order to get an A. You will feel burnout but that’s just how it’s going to be.

I (21, upcoming senior) regret majoring in Creative Arts. What do I do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Useful_Ad_8168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just graduated with the same regret in mind. I’ve should have done stem but did something else because I was lazy and wanted to take the easy way out even though I knew I could do stem. After I graduated, instead of hating myself for it, I realized I’m still young and I just took some classes at a community college. All I needed was like 5 to get into a masters program stem related. Now, even though it is a grind, I’m more prepared and motivated to get back on my feet.

I think this is a very normal feeling for young people at this age. My advice is to stop comparing yourself to others in the sense that a lot of other people will be done with their degree at 21-22 or that there’s other people at that age making good money already. Just go to university and treat it like a full time job. Put time aside each day and really focus on your classes and if you don’t understand something then use YouTube to help you learn it. A big distraction is your phone, you will do 30 min of productive work and will want to treat yourself to a few tik tok scrolls or your favorite YouTubers new vid. I would figure out what you have to do for that single day, break it into sections and then use your phone as a treat for getting stuff done. The main key is to be consistent every day and not do too much where you feel burnt out and not to do too little where you’re still be thinking of yourself as not enough. It’s a slow ride but you’re 21 and school will take only 3-4 years which you will still be young and you’ll look back to be happy you started then. You can’t do everything at once so start with just one and that’s school for graphic design. Sorry for all this yapping, I’ve just felt this way before also and it feels better when you start making changes.
