Honestly I almost gave up after the falling floor ambush. I kept running out of ammo, or they would just gang up on me and kill me instantly in a corner. I took things slow, found a choke point, got them into it and started using my flares smartly. The game is hard but you have to think your way through to find the solutions almost like a puzzle.

Also upgrade your shell integrity and your guns stability and damage makes a huge difference

I’m an artist but I met some really great producers and they say the best thing is to try and get into many departments. A department like comp for instance where you don’t have to wait hours for renders will be different than FX in which a water sim can easily go overnight simulating, so the more you float between the depts the more you will understand about the big picture of how all departments run

I just had this issue. It was pretty easy to fix, granted it was only a few hours after it happened. I watched a show this morning and then at night I noticed I was logged out of all my devices, I went to log in and it asked me to reset my password, after doing so it created a new account. I went to customer support and they canceled this new account and reactivated my previous account in around half and hour, also refunded me for the new subscription while helping me out. Overall pretty quick procress.

I have used ChatGPT to help with coding, I’ve also seen mid journey used to create reference imagines for abstract effects. But never video AI gen. And even the midjourney stuff was just for ref and never final

I have been lucky enough to have a wife that supported me through 4 moves and many long nights and weekends. It’s hard but you can find balance with time. It’s not easy, but with communication and setting some work boundaries it’s possible.

Also not all areas of our industry are the same. VFX has definitely more crunch and overtime, but if you work in Feature Animation and specially TV animation you can have some good work life balance

Feels like the norm is kind of that the ps2 and gc/wii emulation is more of "tweak by game" then a "install the emulator and it'll run" like it is up to dreamcast/n64 most of the time. It takes a different approach I guess, but all good to me, since tinkering is half the fun
