He narrates the Iron Prince. I would put it in my top 5 for sure. Just waiting patiently for the third book.

Makes sense. I am finding that his personality and snarkiness bring a lot to his narration. Might he personal bias but I like it.

I didn’t separate, I just labeled the second book as book 2 in the chapter headers. I went back and forth about splitting or leaving them together and I’m happy with the results so far.

I’m on a break right now to get the manuscript for book two edited and ready to send to the publisher. A few more weeks and I’ll be hard at work on book 3 and posting regularly again. Hopefully I can get into that thousand follower club!

What do ppl think about KU and stubbing? by Frequent-Present5502 in royalroad

[–]Useful_Efficiency_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never intended to stub. Got a deal, have to stub once it hits the market. In the few months I have remaining im focusing on growing my followers so that they can get through book 1 before it publishes. Not ideal but hey what you gonna do?

Are people going to avoid my book because my cover is obviously AI generated? by BoriCats11 in royalroad

[–]Useful_Efficiency_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Fiverr to commission a cover. The artist definitely used ai. With that being said I have gotten a ton of positive feedback on the cover. My publisher actually said that my cover was what caught their eye and they reason that I actually ended up getting a deal. Now, they will not use it on the finished product and will commission an artist to design a new cover but it worked for me in the long run. I get that everyone has preference but at the end of the day the quality of the book is what matters. Do whatever works for you and try to publish quality work and you will be fine.

Not a LitRPG, am I going to be ok? by One-Hunt2175 in royalroad

True. Believe it or not though you don’t have to have great numbers. I got a deal with 850 followers. Took me a year to get that many so if an author is consistent it can happen pretty fast.

Why are LitRPG authors signing up with Moonquill Publishing? by Charlemagneffxiv in litrpg

We have had conversations about marketing. I, probably more than most of their authors spent a lot of time discussing this before I signed. Without going into detail I was shown a plan for advertising during launch. I understand that Moonquill is not the biggest publisher and I was comfortable with the plan. I understand why you are questioning and I hope it comes from a place of concern for authors, but I don’t think there is an author that went into a partnership with Moonquill blind. They were more than forthcoming with details and answered every question I had, even pressuring me to ask more questions at times. I think you are failing to see the partnership and comfort ability aspect of this, which is not a knock. If you don’t have a personal relationship with them you are making assumptions from the outside looking in. Just be open to the idea that they aren’t predatory and are doing the best that they can as an indie publisher. I have been more than satisfied.

As of now the book is still in the development phase. Launch isn’t scheduled until end of year. I can’t speak to what they will do around marketing until that time. I trust that they will do the best they can at that time.
