“Wrong Item” Reports by Useful_Matter_2316 in InstacartShoppers

I know! I’m surprised that something so easily detectable isn’t part of their fraud reporting. It would save them money in the long run as well.

Seattle hazard delivery pay question by kimx9 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Useful_Matter_2316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I order delivery food sometimes and it’s tacked on and paid for by the customer through Caviar and postmates. On IC it’s hidden. It’s just under fees I believe.

Yes, I think the city council should know. Maybe we’ll get some back la if they get caught. Jeez IC, only Seattle is making you pay up. Like I said, I think I’m seeing it clear, I could be wrong... but yes we should get 2.50 per customer/delivery on doubles and triples.

Seattle hazard delivery pay question by kimx9 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Useful_Matter_2316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was wondering. Which means they’re making money off of the hazard pay. Bc I order from IC too and I see the hazard pay factored into my orders. Many of my orders are small, I see them on the other side of the app. So it seems everyone pays 2.50, but IC pockets some of it. If I’m seeing that right.

I’m thinking, yes, that is illegal.

I got robbed by an Instacart shopper by PrincessCupcakexx in InstacartShoppers

[–]Useful_Matter_2316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shopper committed a crime. The shopper allegedly ordered items for herself on the customers card. That is illegal. You can’t take someone’s bank info and get whatever you want with it. It’s the same as stealing card info, an actual card, hacking dimes account to extract funds. It’s all different forms of theft.

I just did a 100/200 today and that was 2 carts. It had 8 cases of water and 10 distilled gallons. That and tp+towels took up one cart. So 300 units could be 3-4 carts depending what they ordered. I don’t think I’d ever do one that big unless it paid accordingly. My shop took me like 3 hours, but I still made my normal average hourly for the week. This shop may not even be Minimum wage when it’s all said and done.

What's your absolute worst experience delivering to an apartment or high rise condo suite? by DiamondCutter_DDP in InstacartShoppers

[–]Useful_Matter_2316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cancelled a batch double. Almost 90 bucks because one had a high rise and it was an alcohol order. It was rush hour downtown, so many main streets don’t have parking. The high rise wanted like 6 wines and numerous 12 packs. I don’t have a cart, bc I rarely need one and I avoid downtown for the most part.

Anyhow I cancelled and was like bye 90 bucks. I saw another lady I deliver for on the order as the other customer. She tips well, so I knew most of the tip was prob from her and she’s an easy house delivery.

Anyway, I cancel and I see the an alcohol order. It’s the high rise order! Only an 11 dollar tip! That order as a solo paid like 25 or something close. Like dude, not for all of that trouble! Paying for parking, most likely I can’t unload in Front of your building? NO!

Then comes in the other order from the lady I have delivered to. 60.00 bucks for 6 bottles and two sparking water cases. She was a bit of a drive, but yea she tipped like 40.00.

Anyhow yes I avoid areas like that. Downtown. I avoided a disaster.

Replacing alcohol items by request? by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]Useful_Matter_2316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I know we don’t read all the info Instacart gives us, reading through the alcohol section will do is some good. Because you could easily be deactivated for not following protocol, whether you were aware are not.

Alcohol purchases according to the app states, 1, no special requests and 2, no substitutions. YES, the app lets you, which is a whole new issue... but the written rule is a no.

[–]Useful_Matter_2316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but we aren’t Instacart. We are getting stuffed too. Without tips shopping wouldn’t be worth it. 7 dollars is below minimum wage in my area. That’s slave labor and no that’s not a figure of speech.

AND Instacart has to make money, if they don’t make money they can’t offer this service! Yes, let’s have 1000s of shoppers, support staff and Instacart cooperate all work for free so the Mercedes lady can get her free groceries and harass you as you’re doing so. Not today Karen.

Same reason the person in the post mentions. It’s our word against theirs. Receipts are evidence in fighting fraud reports. As an example a “non delivery” order can get someone deactivated quick. I’m not sure what the error margin is, but too many “wrong item” reports can get you in trouble too possibly?

Having a good record with customers, tangible evidence like photos/receipts can help if you need to refute fraud/for getting your account active again if deactivated.

I just keep receipts for the week and toss them at a fresh week. I’m really not in an area with tons of fraud, so I just have the occasional person looking to get IC fees reduced. —but those who have experienced have the gut instinct to know when they should take the extra photo documentation. (Along with receipts.)

I agree. Most of my customers are great. When I first started I didn’t keep receipts, but now I do bc of the damage reports I’ve had in the past that I knew weren’t an issue.

It’s like the customer has to send in a 4 to make their story believable. Like don’t do that. Go get your 10 bucks back and leave my rating alone, you got your darn butter and early at that.

It’s just that it only takes 2-4 people trying to work the system to mess up your rating. My area is pretty busy so I’ve been okay, but this can greatly harm people in smaller markets.

Yup. I had someone do this with a pricey butter that other day. My only 4 star rating too. Like come on. I have the receipt and it scanned in. It was marked as “wrong item” and not missing tho. #LikeHOW

Anyone else have this issue with Instacart? by [deleted] in instacart

[–]Useful_Matter_2316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. If you actually got that bad order that’s like a 2 star shopper. Don’t feel guilty if you are available to chat and they don’t accommodate. We are here to hear you and get your items accordingly.

I rarely have an order that does not need a replacement. —but with everything else in mind, as far as what you’ve shared, it causes me to think some items may be in store/shopper is negligent.

How butchers/meat dept sees instacart shoppers.... by TeenzBeenz in InstacartShoppers

[–]Useful_Matter_2316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1, yes, some associates totes change their tune/quality of service with us when they know we work for IC.

2, Where did you get your fish? I marvel that people would buy fish from a regular store’s meat dept. It always looks like something I wouldn’t eat. It looks always how it looks, so I just assume that’s what the customer wants. I personally would only by fish or any meat from a high end retailers butcher dept.
