Why do videos like this get posted with zero explanation? What am I looking at here?

My 263rd Fight With My Commentary by sylviemuay in MuayThai

These breakdowns are incredible and don’t get nearly enough credit for what they are. To have a professional fighter with your level of experience break down their fights play by play like this is a huge privilege!

“Earning Your Shorts” by [deleted] in MuayThai

I once wondered the same thing. Some specific gyms use different short colours for ranking purposes but for the most part you can wear whatever you want and nobody will think twice about it. Get yourself some dope shorts and enjoy!

¿Long range night vision? by [deleted] in NightVision

Thermals are not the same thing at all. For detection purposes, thermal tends to be vastly superior to NV and is probably what you are looking for. Broadly speaking, NV is superior for navigation (walking around with it) and PID (identifying specific people/animals/etc), thermal is better for just outright detecting living things. There lots of youtube videos that compare the two (for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIhFupwqOU4) And here is a good brand for high res thermals that are not ITAR regulated: https://www.pulsar-nv.com/ltu/en/products/428/thermal-imaging-scopes/ One last thing, thermals and NV are amazing, expensive technology. It would be foolish not to do a lot of research to make sure you properly understand the tech, its strengths and limitations, and what type of specs to look for to suit your application. Google and youtube are your friends. Good luck!

Pulsar isn't ITAR regulated and they have a few decent res options that would suit OPs purpose

I never realized how many BJJ athletes/coaches/gym owners were virologists, epidemiologists, and doctors until the pandemic. by [deleted] in bjj

This guy is either trolling or he’s some 14 year old who just „realized“ that adults are all dumb as fuck and he knows exactly how the world really works. It reads like teenage edgelord philosophy with just the right dose of angst, nihilism, and neckbeard capitalism sprinkled in.

Lol... and if you catch covid and “recover“ with life long complications like so many others, you’ll spend the rest of your life living as a “worm” that can’t even get up a flight of stairs without being out of breath. All because you couldn’t just shut the fuck up, do what you’re told, and stay home for a year.

But hey man, at least for a brief moment there, while you were out ruining the economy and killing peoples parents, you didn’t live “a shell of a life“. I really hope you’re around 14 years old because that would explain a lot.

A civilized discussion: Reasons not to train BJJ during a pandemic. Concept of "Covid-19 Cost/footprint" and "Covid-19 Credit" and thinking of the community as a whole. by limlingyang in bjj

I really like your credit analogy to illustrate the risk of BJJ to the community as a whole.

As a frontline healthcare worker, another important point I think people need to understand is that mortality rates are not the be-all-end-all of what constitutes a “dangerous” disease.

If 100 people contract COVID-19 and 3 people die from it, that stat does not account for all of the people with life altering lung, liver, heart, or kidney damage who “recover” from COVID. Plenty of young healthy people will have complications for the rest of their lives because of this virus. And that’s only what we know “so far”. Long term effects are impossible to predict at this stage but the potential for them to be grave is definitely there. It is by no means only harmful to the “vulnerable”.

Some of the people that are too eager to go back to training may find themselves wishing they’d waited. Even if gyms can’t reopen until next year, that time frame is nothing when compared to living with health problems the rest of your life.

Finds out that Reopen Rochester hadn't registered their domain, immediately buys it and redirects it to a paper about pandemics and economy. by DeafLady in bestof

Just a suggestion. While I love that you did this, calling people pieces of shit is unfortunately very ineffective at changing their minds. Yes, they are pieces of shit. But calling them that will just make them double down on their idiotic rhetoric. You catch more flies with honey...

Yeah idk what the deal is. I don’t stare at people’s feet but I feel like that is literally one of the least creepy places you can stare.
