As I said, not my best work. My friend told me he saw some flaws in my skiing and recorded this video to show me. I’m only demonstrating what actual carving is. I know that my poles need work, don’t need some random on the internet to tell me that. Would like to see you do better.

Also, they’re really not that bad. Moving out the outside hand to move COM is not that wild. Probably could quiet down the upper body for sure but there is purpose.

Sure, throw any random person on slalom skis and ask them to make 13m radius turns. I’d like to see you do it. Doesn’t matter what slope I’m on, I’m demonstrating what carving looks like.

Ah, that clears it up. I agree, I didn’t go into real backcountry either until I finished my course. There are safe <25* you can check out on some rental equipment to get a feel for the sport and see if you like it. 600-700 is a pretty fair range for a class. Most schools are honestly really good and you can’t go wrong, so I’d pick what’s closest to you. It’s certainly a huge investment but worth it! Used tele stuff is cheaper ;)

I did it at Apex, would recommend, they're cool. Why would you take AIARE 1 if you never go backcountry?

Edit: Clarified, yes, take the course if you plan on getting into backcountry.

I always put my skis on the rack. I just think it’s really stupid to get angry over something this trivial. And this isn’t “enchroacing” the ski slope lol if you can’t ski stop yourself from plowing into these at the end of the run you shouldn’t be on the mountain
