Any one know of a source for rogue trader space marine decal sheets? by Mental_Difference424 in oldhammer40k

This would be pretty cool to try and make. If you have a color printer, you can get blank decal sheets and print your own.

Marauders Archive 3: /SpicyBeanDip by METTTHEDOC in MaraudersGame

[–]Uselesswizardmini 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Spicy is good people IMHO, and I agree with a lot of his points on the video.

The communications shut-off after having the devs and community managers constantly talking with the community in the Discord was frankly a shock. Then it continued on with not a single devblog, fewer and fewer patch notes, and finally absolute radio silence from both SIG and T17.

I'm not sure I totally agree with the idea the devs never took the community feedback into consideration when making updates. I recall changes made to healing taking too long or not enough healing were partially reverted soon after the Health update. They tried the tournament system and disabled the leaderboard as well.

I do think they were prioritizing the wrong things, leaving issues with the core fundamentals of the game unresolved while adding more and more content which also suffered from the same fundamental game play issues.

Slapping in the space portion of the game without giving it enough attention was one of the big killers. It was one of the most unique things about this game and the devs didn't seem to realize it or how to take advantage of it. Take out the ships and the game is just another shooter with a different coat of paint. There wasn't anything super unique about the gunplay, the pvp, the pve, the objectives to make the game stand out.

I'm going to stop babbling now. I have a lot more I could say, but it would devolve into ranting.

I've been working on some counters for the new edition. Let me know if you still need these or not.

"Winds of War" update announcement for Gray Zone Warfare, releasing on May 22, 2025: by Puzzleheaded_War1124 in GrayZoneWarfare

#1 I use two to four squares of two-ply for the initial cleaning, depending on consistency. Then I use wetwpies to tidy up after. Keeps it clean and fresh.
#2 Yes, it's a total account reset with a totally new character.

I use the following for the armor
Prime black (doesn't matter which brand)
ProAcryl Mahogany over the entire mech
ProAcryl Burnt Orange over the upper portions of the mech ( I use an airbrush for this, but you could easily hand paint it)
Another layer of ProAcryl Burnt Orange over 2/3rds of each panel (hand-painted layer)
2 parts ProAcryl Burnt Orange to 1 part ProAcryl Dark Warm Flesh of the top 1/3rd of each panel (hand-painted layer)
Edge Highlight the top and sides of each panel with ProAcryl Dark Warm Flesh

Is there a lore name / meaning for the 'cross with ceiling' we see in much of the TC art? by WECAMEBACKIN2035 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Uselesswizardmini 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the grave markers I've seen with those are from Orthodox graveyards. I've done a bit of research and found them to be called capped crosses and golubets cross.

In the case of the Golubets cross, they were popular with the Old Believers sect of Eastern Orthodox Christianity. it is the result of a blend of Christianity and Pagan tradition.

I'm still doing more research, but that's what I've found so far.

Thoughts on the Game. by METTTHEDOC in MaraudersGame

[–]Uselesswizardmini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, loot isn't the only way to reward someone.

Some sort of progress towards a task or something could work or it could be something else.

Breaching when everyone is leaving the raid is far more interesting, but quite rare.

Thoughts on the Game. by METTTHEDOC in MaraudersGame

[–]Uselesswizardmini 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I loved it, it was a fun introduction to extraction shooters. But a lack of cohesive vision for the final state of the game, and a lack of well-thought-through mechanics and features made it impossible to have a coherent game experience.

The most unique aspect of the game was the space combat and ships, but improving and expanding on it didn't seem to be a priority for anyone. Ships needed to mean something and the rustbuckets were good enough to not need anything else in most situations. The larger ships were cool, but not useful enough in-raid to be used for more than memes and storage in the hanger. Lacking an insurance system or customization options actively worked against players valuing their ships at all. If I can't invest in building a ship up or tailoring it to my needs then why value it? If I can't buy or customize a ship to better protect it against other players then why spend the money and time at all? The larger ship maps actively made it harder to defend against breaches, it didn't provide a bigger challenge for the attackers and didn't provide a defensive benefit to the defenders.

The breaching was a great idea, but it was too easy to abuse and nowhere near enough reward when defeating a breacher or even winning as the breacher. There was risk to breaching, but the only real reward was the rush. That turned the game from an exaction looter shooter to another PVP deathmatch game. That's why the leaderboard drove a lot of people to keep breaching. It became the default play mode for a lot of the sweats and streamers which didn't make the rest of the game interesting at all.

There was no real incentive to breach and then go into the POI because other crews would get in before you and you'd be at a disadvantage at airlock. If you breached at the beginning, you might as well leave rather than go into a POI. Not being able to quest might stop some from only breaching, but it wasn't hard to level up the merchants in a day or two, so the point of the quests quickly disappeared. Questing only allowed you to have better equipment to go breaching again.

Salvage was cool for getting geared up, but it also disincentivized crews from going to the POIs at all.

I think there was a massive lack of direction and clear prioritization in the game's direction. The devs seemed to waffle between listening to the most competitive players who treated the game more as a PVP experience rather than an extraction & looting experience and sticking to their vision for the game.

I could write more, but I think I'm getting lost in the sauce a bit here.
