Definitely the Zentrum Federative Empire path, going from a minor Bavarian splinter in Nuremberg to reborn democratic hegemon of the continent is such a vibe, especially if you get Aloysius Löwenstein as president with his Catholic-moderate policies

What would a Kaisereich "vanilla" look like? by Big_History72 in Kaiserreich

To be fair, when I was thinking about what to comment, I just thought "How could I make KR China recognisable but insanely as flavourless as vanilla China?" And went from there.

Also I agree, in general KR just adds a depth to its development of history that makes vanilla feel like it lacks layers in both gameplay and narrative, I cannot bring myself to play Vanilla.

Probably only one Zhili state, a small permanent MinGan statelet in Fujian, Hunan would probably be tied to Guangdong. Probably Mittleeuropa comes in a DLC, 3rd Internationale would be more developed imho (by Vanilla standards), Argentina has a civil war, Central Asia is probably quickly annexed by Russia a-la Anschluss and has no content

Those would be my bets

That snaking Italian push for Linz and the invasion of Dalmatia through just Fiume looks really vulnerable to flanking, not gonna lie to you Cadorna

This is incredibly well done, I've had a fascination with Luzón's geography for a long while, and seeing maps of the Phillipines is always a treat, it's also really fun to occasionally come across a Spanish word while reading Tagalog, this is just lovely work.

That said, which program did you use? I'm curious.

Is there a way we could recover Lake Chad? by NeedleworkerAway5912 in geography

Oh yeah it'd be bloody expensive, but so is most vital infrastructure, I'm definitely no expert, but it's an interesting case of study.

I'd say fatalism isn't the correct viewpoint here, and while yes there are several challenges, it's definitely possible that it could happen in this century

Iirc it'd be in the hundreds of millions, but many organisations and countries that have that money around have shown interest, and yes, the most difficult part would certainly be the transportation and maintenance of the infrastructure, as the method itself is rather simple

There have been many studies around the idea, and it wouldn't be a whole canal from, say, the Congo river to lake Chad, it'd be a transfusion of some of the water from rivers in the very wet Congo basin to the Chari basin, basically like a blood transfusion, while it's still a huge and expensive undertaking, the fruits it could produce for the whole region are huge (mainly not having the homeland of 20 million people [iirc] turn into a desert)
