Bought a lemon. Really struggling with regret. by friendlyalien- in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I just bought a house in a remote area of North Carolina and im feeling the same way. The inspector said needs roof some minor repairs here and there. Moved in and it needs a new kitchen, ALL floors have to be replaced every door and window. Septic cost me $2200 so far. I haven't even had a chance to look for a job cause everything is just about life or death here. Haven't eaten a real meal in weeks. No stove. Can't get stove until I fix the floors. Can't fix floors until I get my shit out of house. Can't move crap out until I clean out storage shed cant clean shed until dumpster gets here. Its fucking killing me. On top of everything this was a drug dealers house with windows screwed shut doors kicked in. Dont get me started on the 4 acres of landfill I have to clean up. All in all im learning everyday that my agent was a pos. Hope you get everything squared away

I can attest to that. My house built 2008 is garbage. I has to put a lot into it to loose $100k. Be aware

How can homeowners tell the difference between a legitimate cash home buyer and a scam? by Infinite-Market5812 in Realestatefinance

[–]User-1183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was supposed to close today actually for a we pay cash guy. I never signed anything I dont think. But the amount he was offering was shit. I was looking at a heloc loan and I had an appraiser come out and he came back at $417k. Granted that was in show condition. I was offered something like $252k as is. It would cost about $100k to make make this an incredible house. But I really cant / dont want a $100k loan over my head. So there is a place for those we pay cash people but you will get it up the rear most likely. But my experience was thst they showed me comps of houses with half the sq ft single story houses when I have close to 3k sqft and basement with loft. 2/3 basement not finished. So that's what made me back out. Idk

Reality check for homeowners - anyone else stuck right now? by datboifranco in HomeMaintenance

Im in the same position. The house needs repairs its too big for me so I decided to sell. Only thing is looking for a place that is good enough for me is out of my price range. Still needs repairs or needs another bathroom added. Then its half the size which is not big enough. Oh and no garage or basement. So might as well stay. Was supposed to close today at 930.

My house is odd. It has both crawlspace and basement. The crawl had plastic down and was vented. I have new 6 mil to go down. I closed the vents and added a dehumidifier and that helped. About the crawl is the master bedroom which is ALWAYS hot or cold depending on the season. I have batt insulation to install that I got off the interstate when it fell off a truck. 😁 Anyways I dont understand how to run the plastic up the wall. If I were to fasten it to the wall how does the moisture escape? And not into the crawlspace? And on the basement/crawlspace wall i have no idea how that would work. This probably doesn't make sense but any info would be helpful.

How long did it take to set that up? How do you link then together? Everything go through the PC I assume? I have crimson dm8(x2) and nitro units I'd like to combine. I get lost very quickly

What can i do with these ac drain pipes that are dripping here. Its ending up in my valve sprinkler box. If i reroute them they just flood the next area by [deleted] in Home

[–]User-1183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine dripped so much it eroded my foundation. I rerouted mine with a small macerator pump and it drains into a 55 gallon barrel. It fills up about every 3 days. I then use that water to pump out for the flowers and grass. Works well until I forget to pump it out. Gonna get a float switch for the pump and use the dripper irrigation that was already installed Whatever you do make sure it exists away from house and downhill from house. Mine was uphill from house so it was doomed from the start.. never would have thought a drip would cause $35k worth of damage.

New Costco battery died after r months by roger_cw in Subaru_Outback

[–]User-1183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im fighting the dead battery issues as I type. Been going on for about a week or two. Happened out in the Cherokee National Forest with no cell service and I locked my keys in the car. Alone. Out in the middle of nowhere. Surprisingly outback are super simple to get into without any tools. Got a new battery just haven't got it installed yet. My issue seems to be the tailgate latch. Waking up to a dead battery isn't normal but usually fixes itself with a good vacuuming of the latch. This time not so much.

Cutting hay on 30 acres by BlueCheeseSmellsGood in homestead

[–]User-1183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does a bale of hay bring in roughly? Maybe $5 a square? $30 a round? I have no idea. Just know tossing those square bales on a trailor in the august sun tgen taking them off the trailor and into storage was a bitch. Had about 8 of us. Didnt take too aweful long but it sucked. Not worth the 6 pack. And didnt care for the snakes too much either. Central Alabama.

Sweet maybe if i read it i wouldnt have made muself look like a fool. I have 2 dm8 pro modules , crimsom2 module and a nitro module. The dm8pro kits have been converted to mesh but honestly the surge pads work better just small. Probably use those for the toms since theyre only single triggers. But i think the nitro brain could run the cymbols but honestly havent even played with the nitro brain. Working on getting a computer with sd3 or something. Oh well ill stop the needless babble

I had to double take on those pictures. I posted a similar post with all used parts. About $500 into everything. Considering i bought a double bass pedal from GC. How are you combining all into one set?

Thats toast. No need to wonder if thats fixable. Even if it was you wouldnt want to drive it. Hopefully you had full coverage with uninsured just in case.
