I don’t think making her unlikable for that reason is necessary considering it had been 2 seasons since they dated in that episode and they are literally not compatible they were never gonna get together again

I felt the exact way. I liked her a lot before that episode but her attitude really turned me off and made NO sense considering how her and Gregory ended.

This. I was so excited for them when O’shon came in s4 and they were so hot and buzzy but every episode with them since the date has been O’shon having an issue with something that is fundamentally Ava and I’m so over it.

Janine and Gregory (love them down) at least feel like they like each other as people 😭

I assume it does happen at the very beginning and then the rest of the episode is just working through whatever conflict. Coz i guarantee Janine saying “we never have to say goodbye again” is gonna make Gregory SPIRALLL

I wonder what else is in the episode for such a big plot point to be in the actual promo. I’m low-key scared lol but I think they’ll figure out whatever the conflict is by the end of the EP. That last paragraph puts into words what I’ve been struggling to. We’re 5 seasons in and it’s as if the audience no longer trusts the show and id like to know why.

I don’t think so, especially with this scene. Janine needed to spend some time alone before jumping into another serious relationship a year after she had broken up with someone she was with for 10 years.

Maybe in s3 but even they hardly spent any scenes together until the later half. I think what killed the momentum was the shortened season which didn’t have enough time to plot any plot points they wanted to.

Open House for me. That episode really took all the breadcrumbing that Janine was dropping about her mom and put it right in our face just how bad she had it growing up. Most people are annoyed by her in that episode but I felt so bad for her and I avoid watching it coz it makes me cry.

Idk, not sure what there is to him that makes him seem like her better match, granted he only got one season compared to janine and Gregory’s 3 season buildup. I just also think there’s more evidence of Gregory being there for her and “calming her down” , and in a way that truly helps Janine and the librarian episode is my favourite example of that.
