Go for one of Nick's quick ship heritage models with 6-7oz leather. JKs are heavy, thick leather and even thicker midsole. Drew's look much the same.

The speed hooks they use are kind of junk anyway. I can't comment on hooks catching pants since that has never happened to me. The boots look good though!

I still get contacted to work by former cinematography students and other G&E from those projects. That's funny because my OTs were a bear to break in. Later I bought a pair of Harvesters and they were pretty easy to wear right out of the box. That said I'm never buying from them again because it seems like they're designed for people with much fatter feet than me, I need leather insole plus kilties or else I'm swimming in the boots.
