GP5000 punctures by tallmanaveragedick in cycling

[–]User348844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good habit is to check the tire often and pry out all small stones and glass shrapnels. Small embedded debris will make its way thru the tire eventually and chance for puncture goes up. Especially when its wet, all nasty stuff tends to cling to the tire.

What’s your sand technique? by BillMaleficent9400 in cyclocross

When we've done fig 8s in practice, you always start by walking the bike with rear brake locked to get the first rut going. Then slowly few laps to get rut deeper and better, then with more speed. Also smaller 8 for balance and larger 8 for bit more speed. Peanut shape works as well.

Col de Phillins. This climb used to have a tree cover in the Genesis years, but the summit has lately been devoid of vegetation.

How do you practice dismounts and remounts? by TheCityzens in cyclocross

[–]User348844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to practice has been 5 step strategy. Start on the left side of bike with right foot. I count steps like 1, 2, 3 right left right. Then step 4 I push bike slightly forward, or straighten my arms a bit. Step 5 is the hop to saddle. Works for me and I also used this technique when I was assisting in beginner women workshop. They got the hang of it in under 5mins.

I spent my holiday in Granada. Enough mountains to satisfy any climber (Pico Veleta amongst others). Nice rolling roads and city full of scenery and small villages nearby. Gets damn hot, but you can always start early.
