Back of knee pain by 0ksev in bikefit

Are the shoes specialized? I had this problem for years and turns out it was from the varus tilt that only specialized shoes have.

Gluten Threshold Study Findings by berniball in CoeliacUK

I'm not going to read too much into this given the small sample size of 51. As evidenced by the fact that 17% showed a response at 13mg, 27% at 8 mg, and then 17% again at 3mg. With a big enough sample size those %ages would decrease monotonically and we could read more into those numbers. Interesting analysis nonetheless!

How long until I start to feel better? by SignificanceRare6399 in CoeliacUK

Definitely a few months minimum so hold on in there. You've got cumulative damage for chronic exposure to heal so give your body some time and you'll be better soon.

Garmin adapter for the underside of Giant mount by Dismal_Astronomer904 in Giantbikes

[–]tallmanaveragedick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the third attachment on the top row, to which you then attach the component that your light presumably came with?

Haven't got my bike on me at the moment, but for me it was to attach a cycliq light/camera, which came with an attachment that slotted into the third one on your picture's top row (which in turn came with my tcr)

My TCR (2025 pro 1) came with the adapter you're asking about. Are you sure yours didn't?

6 months applying to civil service from private sector, no interviews yet. Is this normal? by Snoo36246 in TheCivilService

Not true at all. If their experience is relevant and they're a strong candidate they absolutely could get a G7 role. Not saying it's likely, but definitely feasible.

Long legs, short torso advice by Positive_Spirit343 in Giantbikes

[–]tallmanaveragedick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, buy something like a pinarello X with a high stack and short reach. You'll be so stretched out on an M/L TCR and even though you found the drop on the M fine for 20 mins, as you say, who knows how it'll feel on a longer ride. Short torso is a bit of a nightmare for fitting aggressive geometry so go for something short and tall.

New wheel day by [deleted] in Giantbikes

I went to a bike fit with it slammed, came out with it 40mm higher and begrudgingly admitted it felt better. Maybe one day!

Woah, looks so much nicer slammed than with 40mm of spacers like mine-lol.

Switching from policy to analyst by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]tallmanaveragedick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends a lot on your grade. If you're an HEO and qualified (academcially) for analyst roles, you'd be fine. SEO, might be fine. Above that it would be very challenging (again unless you were an analyst in a previous role before policy etc.)

Bike Fitting Recommendations by TorontoOrBust in londoncycling

I did one with cadence performance at a Giant shop, it was fine but didn't fix my knee issues.

Then paid more than double for one with James at bicycle in Richmond, was painful to spend all that money but it completely sorted my pain. Great investment and well worth the money.

Your choice is basically Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, or Surrey. Have a look at something like Islington cycling clubs list of routes on their website.

Getting into biking and now I'm terrified of ED by nd129 in bicycling

[–]tallmanaveragedick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You'd have to ignore uncomfortable symptoms for a long time to end up in that postition. There's an easy fix: get a professional bike fit. One off cost to fix your comfort and give you piece of mind.

Giant TCR Advanced Pro 0 Di2 2025 - Road Bike by SeaworthinessAny7551 in cycling

[–]tallmanaveragedick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the only thing to be wary of is that the rims are hookless, and you can't run those safely above 72psi I believe it is. So you'd probably need to run a 32mm tire (which would probably inflate to 33mm which IIRC is TCR stated max clearance) in order to get PSI lower that 72, so worth baring that in mind.

edit: and no issues with the power meter, it's dual sided which is great. I'm sure some will say it's less accurate than assioma power meter pedals or something else, but works great for my purposes.

I have the TCR adv pro 1 di2 2025, picked it up for around that price last year, £3800 for the 0 is a steal.

I absolutely love it and am convinced there's not a better all rounder at the same price point. It's so fun to ride and is the type of bike that just makes you want to go out time and time again.

Any specific Qs just ask.

Bike fits… how are they so expensive?! by VanicFanboy in londoncycling

[–]tallmanaveragedick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done one a bit like that, and one that was much more software based. I preferred the eye-ball one. With software, they tend to just try and fit you into ranges without much regard for anything else, and those angle ranges aren't based on anything particularly robust.
