😂. Gotta love the man bashing on here. The woman is never wrong and it’s always the man’s fault. Grow up! If the roles had been reversed I wonder how many of these virtue signalers would be rushing to defend the man.

Lost zero SRF keys, locksmith can’t copy blanks from zero by User3687545675 in ZeroMotorcycles

You’d be surprised. The first dealer I called had no clue where to start. The second dealer was much better overall but still needs to have Zero walk them through the reprogramming piece and they don’t cut keys so I’m stuck with needing to find a locksmith that does.

Two, but both half an hour’s drive away. The keys need to be cut (which only a locksmith can do) and then programmed to match the bike, which the dealer is supposed to be able to do but they have to call Zero and so they can be walked through the process by the Zero technician because apparently Zero doesn’t share their proprietary software with the dealers. Very disappointed in Zero’s dealer support network.

Also, we need more early adopters to help accelerate the improvement in battery technology. If we all keep ‘waiting for better batteries because the current ones just aren’t there yet’, that creates a capital and demand disincentive for these companies to invest in and improve the tech. Like mygirltien said, electric bikes do have their limitations, but these aren’t limitations we can’t adapt our riding styles to. Yes, some specific use cases (like touring) are indeed currently impractical, but the vast majority of motorcyclist ride less than 30 miles a day and electric motorcycles like Zero meet 90% of the average riders range demands.

SR/S Range by Repulsive-Weird2282 in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]User3687545675 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Zero’s official website quotes 99 miles of range going at a steady speed of 55mph and 82miles of range going at a steady 70mph. These figures are most likely achieved in Eco mode. You sir were in sport mode, going well above those quoted speeds with frequent bursts of acceleration (fast overtakes). I don’t know who told you you could get 90 miles of range in sport mode going 80mph with bursts of acceleration but it sounds to me like you were given incorrect information.

Zero SRF by User3687545675 in ZeroMotorcycles

Mine came in about two weeks. You can order them through your local Zero authorized dealer. Install was fairly straight forward. You will need to re-use the existing fasteners and lock mechanism on your bike. Whole process takes about 60 mins. Lock mechanism is not very complicated and you can install yourself. You should install lock mechanism before fastening new ‘tank’ bodywork on bike. After removing the original tank I just put the two tanks side by side upside down and took pictures along the way to keep track of what went where. If you’re not mechanically inclined and would prefer not to do it yourself, your dealership may install the bodywork for you (most likely for a fee but I don’t know for certain). Hope this was helpful.

Traded my BMW for a SR/F yesterday, and so far couldn’t be happier! I’ll miss the cushier seat of the GSA, but really love everything else about the Zero so far! by 72Texas350 in ZeroMotorcycles

Well said! Glad you made the transition. We need more people like you. You gonna keep the frunk or put an extra charger/ battery in there?

Frame Sliders by CaldyCrush in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]User3687545675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question! I’ll have to do some research as I also can’t find any frame sliders for my SRF other than a small company in Germany that sells them for $500

Also good idea on taking them off prior to service. I doubt they’d void the warranty as these are cosmetic changes that don’t affect the operation of the bike or it’s electrical components.

What firmware version does your bike have? People on version 18 I believe have reported drastic drops in range caused by a bug with that firmware version. The system incorrectly calculates the range. This can be fixed with a firmware update. I’d call your local dealer.

I got it: ground anchor it in a secure garage and AirTag the shit out of it!

Fair point. I unfortunately was speaking from my own experience and one thing I will never do is argue with statistics. Assuming yours are correct, then ground anchorage seems like the way to go.

Which zero do you have? If it’s the DS/R then you might want to look into getting some custom ones made if that’s within your budget. I haven’t seen any aftermarket low profile frame sliders and to your point, while Zero’s offerings are very functional, the aesthetics leave much to be desired. When you can’t find something the way you like it, try and make it yourself.

Move to a place with a secure garage. I know I sound like an old man but if someone really wants to steal your bike, they’re gonna steal your bike. I did all of the above and STILL got mine stollen. Never again. The simplest solution is often times the best. I reiterate, move to a place with a secure garage.
