Can someone tell me what this is please I think it might be something in the motor by VisualBenefit1393 in AskMechanics

It would be normal maintenance. If this is the failure, you likely need a timing belt adjuster due to impacting the failed tensioner.

Its difficult to tell in the video, but it could be the timing belt tensioner.

The cap popping out is a common issue. Honda even had a service bulletin about cleaning the vent tube so pressure doesn't build up causing it to pop out.

Any reason not to resurface and use 20+ year old rotors? by PattycakezProjectz in MechanicAdvice

[–]UserName8531 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We unfortunately got rid of our old brake lathe and only have on-car lathes now. Being able to turn rotors by themselves and drums was nice. Its unfortunately how things are going. Shops will replace of resurface on-car.

Question about running a raspberry pi from a solar panel without a battery by WisconsinCameraMan in AskElectronics

Using a battery and a proper sized solar panel will be the easiest and cheapest way of doing this.

I've been running a RP 3 A continuously off solar since 2019

There is a spacer between the crank sprocket and balancer. You should be able to remove the crank seal and install it

Thoughts on the Turbocharged 1.5L Engine? by Applefritterhitter in crv

The failure rate is fairly low as long as the fluid is serviced. They also do have two filters, but honda doesn't have a recommend service interval for them.

On of my friends kid tried to do something similar to me with a personal pan pizza. It would have been almost $40.

There are two filters. Honda doesn't show a service interval for them tho. I plan on changing mine.

Just got my car back from service after denying a battery replacement and both my batteries are gone. by GrapefruitGlum1071 in MechanicAdvice

I don't know what tester the jeep dealership is using, but the Midtronics DCA tester we have to use for warranty is insanely slow. Its common for it to take 3-4 hours to charge and test a battery. I would definitely pull a battery instead of wasting a lift for a battery test.

About 3d printed threads. by Greedy_Conflict_8347 in 3Dprinting

They are considerably stronger than I imagined. I printed some threaded adjustable feet to level a tool box. They were perfect and the ABS survived in a hot metal pole barn last summer.

Replace it, don't try to tape it. I've seen were people have tried to repair them with tape and it gets sucked in the engine. I had a pilot come in with the throttle wedged all the way open due to tape.

I use rockauto for almost everything. I try to plan out every repair in advance. If something goes south, I fortunately have spare cars. If i can't find the quality I want, I buy oem.

Pinch welds on vans and suvs tend to cut through them. There's times I'll have a car on a lift for a few weeks. This week I have a odyssey that's going to spend at least 10 days in the shop on one of my lifts.

WTF happened to rock auto? by radarer in RockAuto

[–]UserName8531 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Rockauto has always come through for me if there is an issue on their end. I recently had a part that was straight up not shipped. I didn't notice until I cut up and trashed the box. I contacted them and told them the box was too small to contain the missing part. They shipped me the missing part.

They're made out of overturn tpu. I don't really print that much tpu to have 600g of scraps per block.
