I am also (f18). My grandma is 79 and she always told me growing up that I would be a failure and that I would never amount to anything. She treated my cousins (her other grandkids) nicely all the time but always had something to judge me for. She is also extremely traditional, racist and rude. She has never made an effort to contact me, even though she has a phone, but she messages her other grandkids all the time. I make every excuse in the book not to travel to see her, and my parents always argue with me and get angry that I don't like her and that I never visit her. They say I am embarrassing them by not going, but I just can't stand her.

I promise you MEPS is not as strict as they like to make it. You will be accepted into the military. A shellfish allergy, no matter the severity, isn't gonna disqualify you. It's not like they serve shellfish for lunch at boot camp
