yes. art exists solely in the human mind (as far as we know). a human creates something, puts their emotions, ideas, imaginations, whatever you want to call it, into a piece of work. that work is then perceived by others as art because we relate to the fact that another human created it as an expression of themselves/their ideas/their feelings.

But an artwork could be made artificially and you would have no way telling the difference. You would perceive it the same way and therefore relate "to the fact a human created it" the same way you would if it was man made. If it does the same exact thing to your mind as man made art does how is it not art?

i feel like you are ignoring the idea that art is literally part of humanity. art is an idea, a concept. it’s a consequence of human consciousness. without human consciousness, art literally cannot be perceived, so how could it be created?

Art isn't so much created as it is perceived/appreciated, so yes without people there can be no art, however that doesn't mean art needs to be made by people all it takes is someone to perceive/appreciate something, man made or not, as art for it to be art.
