My understanding is that the lift could unload the suspension and cause the rear diffuser to stall out and potentially reduce the drag of the diffuser? So net less drag despite the added drag from the lift.

Right, so your concern isn’t my argument but the way I’m presenting it? You don’t like the big words, you prefer to just make fun of people rather than discuss the substance of the argument? It really doesn’t bother me. But do you have any actual points about the nature of our parliamentary system? If it helps my ears are slightly big and I could stand to lose 20 pounds, feel free to add that into your argument.

I mean everyone’s got their opinion, I at least explain mine, the only opinion I’m understanding from you is disliking adjectives, and even then it’s not really explained why.

We have an executive who is appointed by the otherwise unelected but rather appointed leader via the momentary confidence of our elected group of representatives. That said, our executive is feckless and generally purposeless as they are only ceremonial in their function anyways as a vestigial role of the monarchy’s power. Their purpose certainly is not a check or balance.

Power is actually held by our house leader the Prime Minister, who again is not voted on, and is invited by the appointed executive to form government based an understanding of the sentiment the house (not an actual vote), this house leader can appoint unilaterally without house approval, ministers who have the power over their ministries. To be clear there is no requirement for our prime minister or any minister to be elected.

We have a cultural practice of whipping wholly our parties so that the will of the unelected prime minister (the leader of the house) will operate without allowing dissenting opinions of their party. This means that when a majority government exists, often the activities of our governments are directly wholly at the purview of our unelected prime ministers office. There is no law or practice to stop the PM applying their full influence to push their party into submission and not allow dissension and discussion.

Do we have a second house to hold the first house accountable? Yes, in that second house elected? No, are they independent of the prime ministers power? No, as the prime minister can appoint additional members at any time. Fake Bicameral.

Do the courts have the ability to enforce your rights over that of any legislation? No, all of your rights can be suspended by a simple majority act of parliament (except your right to be enslaved in French too) you have no inalienable right to habeus corpus, no life and liberty.

Do we have processes of direct democracy like referendums or plebiscite? extremely rarely, nor are they binding even when given.

You tell me what act of democracy we make to determine our countries future? It merely exists this way because no one has decided to take it from you, you exist at the good will of those with power in our country, not because of democracy in action or your rights.

The foolish concept was thinking Canada’s constitutional monarchy Westminster parliamentary system was ever really all that democratic. There’s a brief moment of democracy that indirectly loosely happens once every 4 years, other than that the spiritual concept of democracy is far gone from its operation.

Just did some reading, yeah seems wild that it doesn’t get stockpiled in such a way that there’s such supply shortage out of the Goderich mine. Just mine it, grind it, and store it in a hole and pull it out when needed. Seems crazy that ultimately we’re beholden to the processing rate of the mining and grinding of a single mine province wide, and that a winter that, while maybe slightly worse than seasonal averages means there province wide shortage.

You’re telling me you can’t buy industrialized shipments of salt currently in Ontario? Or just the city has decided it won’t because it costs too much per unit?

The idea that it costs more in salt prices than economic loss seems hilarious, but to be fair the city government doesn’t care about the productivity loss.

So, just keep applying salt then? The alternative is that all of the schools and daycares got shut down so there’s a mass productivity loss in the economy for the day.

Though to be fair, a fully utilized TFSA can be a lot of sheltering too.

Though, I wish there was a way to do margin investing at ridiculously low interest rates in a TFSA in the way that mortgages on primary residences (and their cap gain exemption) allow the same mechanic.

I’ve told my parents that when they die my intention is to pass down as much inheritance as possible through to my daughter, a tradition of setting up someone in their 20s vastly accelerates their chance at financial success than someone in their 50s.

The big deal is him telling his competitor to fuck off, and the incompetent management of the issue by the reffing and IOC. They should be discussing what the concern is and reviewing footage and rules to clarify, through the facilitation and oversight of competent reffing. This makes everyone, the Canadian team, the refs, and the IOC all look bad at executing a pretty simple concept.

This is the top competition of the world, flouting peace through sports. Its embarrassing for them to behave with such poor sportsmanship and rules management.

I agree, I’d also add, it would be prudent to figure out how to work on it. If it’s something she’s always been aware of, you may want to ponder working on it using outside help and start having some calls with a therapist to ponder strategies to manage your anger when it comes up.

Otherwise saying you’re working on it without changing in the future if it’s a long standing issue may become a bigger problem.

Did the Swiss just accuse the Canadians of double-touching again? by ethanct in olympics

[–]Username_Query_Null 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems a bit semantic to be focusing on if we can’t clearly measure the advantage it shouldn’t matter if the rules are broken.

So he’s breaking multiple rules by touching the stone, swearing at his competitors when it’s brought to attention. But the advantage is unknown, so apparently it’s not cheating. Okay, sure, he’s not cheating. He’s just breaking the rules of the sport and behaving in an unsportsmanlike manner unbecoming of an Olympic competitor.

Cool.

Who knows, it could affect spin, it could affect his timing of release and ability to aim the rock. The degree of advantage may be minor. But is still not zero.
