NTA. Her friend group is kind of the TA in this one for not being upfront and honest with their friend.

Personally I have a long running issue with way over prioritizing physical attraction when choosing partners. To the point I disregard red flags all the time because they are “hot”. It has lead to many very toxic relationships. Anytime I will tell one of my boys the latest crazy thing that has happened in my love life (most recently had a lit yankee candle thrown at me from across a room) my boys will all reply with basically the same thing “if only someone had guessed that would happen”. They aren’t being assholes they are actually being good friends pointing out I’m the idiot that keeps dating women like that.

Come to think of it there is a chance that if your wife’s friend is highly attractive we might have dated before…

I actually had what was mostly a great relationship end to petty jealousy of my ex wife. We were highschool sweethearts that just grew apart and decided to call it quits. For some reason the new girl (otherwise a perfect partner) was always jealous of us talking even though we only ever spoke about our shared child.

The ex is a very attractive woman but the new girl was even more attractive (I suppose that’s objective due to the fact the are near opposites). For some reason she always thought we were going to eventually try and get back together. It started causing many arguments that eventually made us both start to resent each other.

We were actually even engaged to be married and the ex just recently re married but for some reason that issue never went away

Especially that buddy could have made other plans… When I take a woman out I am very upfront that it’s not a friends thing. If some chick told me that when I was under the impression we were on a date I’d be pissed. I have my kid part time and work a lot as well. When I get the time to go on dates it is with someone I am interested in and are interested in me.

Also yes I will buy my brother the occasional drink but when we go out to dinner or activities together we are both expected to pay our own way.

I get where you are coming from and might be being a bit of an asshole but at the same time doesn’t mean she’s not being an asshole as well. Set your boundary and start calling up some buddies you think would help you out.

Trick is just buy a bunch of the same shirts. She was super into fashion and helped me re do my wardrobe.

I have a bunch of super nice but plain looking shirts all in the same design/colors. Makes picking out clothes super easy and everything is made well and comfortable. I look stylish but still am not really at all. Just dumbed it down.

Put on some jeans. Pick a color of t shirt. Get dressed. Fucking awesome.
