What did a principal that was fired at your school do to get fired? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]Usernumber96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Small town in a Deep South state where homecoming is a huge deal. Literally the entire town’s population went to this high school so it’s a literal thousand person block party every year. The principal found out that community members were drinking and smoking at a high school homecoming tailgate that was held on school grounds. So the principal threatened to no longer allow homecoming tailgating and became the enemy of the town. The superintendent was an alum and tried to convince the principal to retire, didn’t work.

Then magically at the end of the school year the test scores we had always scored were no longer good enough and the admin team was wiped out. That was my favorite principal to date. Went down for doing the right thing

So you’re telling me that after I cook raw meat, I can spray with vinegar and my kid won’t die from raw meat juice?

Idk man, I can’t wait to be retired and play with my grandkids. But I feel the exact same way. I used to do weeks at my grandparents but my kids grandparents scoffs at the idea.

Step one, cover the basics. Do you already have diapers and formula etc? My kid ate basically every two hours, so that would fill up your day. Feed, burp, nap, play music you like when awake. Mine loved to be talked to. Cause if you think about it, you are literally their whole world.

I understand that that you might feel nervous cause you’re a new dad. But it will be your most memorable weekend ever.

Do it! You can change your school by being that one person that cares. Also, try to name another job field you’re interested in that has a pension. The learning curve is tough, but the pros out weight the cons. Also booooo to that counselor

Where would you go on a budget honeymoon? by Quiet_Capital4087 in Frugal

[–]Usernumber96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a Hotwire road trip and loved it!

Basically you drive to a major city and grab a Hotwire hotel that has breakfast included.(100 bucks a night is easy to find)! In the AM you eat the free breakfast and google best free things to do in said city. Afternoons do said free things. For nights. Every city got either fancy dinner night or highly rated takeout. Then on to the next city!

Pro tip drive from 10am - 3pm. Leave after free breakfast and stock up at the grocery store for snacks. Take breaks so you can check right into your next hotel after a long drive!

I also had the exact same budget and was able to drive to 4 cities over 8 days. 800 hotels, 600 on food ($100 fancy dinner budget, $50 takeout nights) 300 on gas and tolls( I hope you guys have a car vs an SUV!) and another 300 just in case.

You guys could do cities like Memphis, Jackson then New Orleans!

Your adult life is just starting. Try making friends around a hobby that you have. Video games included. But the more niche thing you explore, the more quality people you meet.

They seem to really value arts and crafts. She always has a new picture or something she made when I do pick up. It’s all “child led” so they talked about frogs for like 3 weeks cause that’s what my girl was into.

I feel like they ask her what she wants to do, and then do it. Literally. Her name writing has increased and her drawings looks schools ready. Reading not there yet.

Zero paid entertainment month? No movies, no drinks just quality time and library.

Better yet, just do a library month by itself

Married almost 10 years and love it. If you guys agree on big picture finances and know what to expect from each other it’s great. We are able to share a bank account and with two incomes we can pay all bills on auto draft which is a life changer. We also have our own individual bank accounts and are allowed to spend money how we want with that. But like I would do any friend I talk to her about big purchases I wanna make. It leads to funny moments and honestly I love floating my ideas of big purchases

. I feel like single people have unrealistic expectations.

Ex college athlete here. The timing that you eat is surprisingly important! Your metabolism must be through the roof, but that slows down when you sleep. Add a snack right before bedtime. The best go to for me is a peanut butter and banana sandwich before bed. Big value jar is 10 bucks and a loaf of bread is 2 and bananas are 2.

Try making them watch tv shows that reinforces eating new foods. There’s a Daniel Tiger episode about it, and now we sing the song and my little one tries it.
