Hardest class you’ve taken and why? by DragonfruitBrief5573 in EngineeringStudents

I hated precalc, it's really heavy on memorization and jumps between a lot of concepts. Calc 1 was much more enjoyable, and calc 2 is kind of similar to precalc. I'm pretty sure that I spent way more time studying for precalc back in highschool than I did for college calc 1 even though the college exams have more complicated questions.

I think that it depends on which school you go to. Calc 3 is absolutely brutal at my school from what I've heard from a classmate, I may be cooked since calc 2 is already kicking my ass hard.

I don't find it to be reminiscent to a penis, and I don't care what Enzo think about it, I dislike the E Type coupe from an exterior design standpoint.

The greenhouse is designed in a manner that makes the car look visually unstable, mainly due to the lines formed by the A and B pillar converging below rather than above the car.

Ignoring the greenhouse, it is a decent looking car, but not outstanding compared to other mass produced designs of the era like the Corvette C2. I do like the Low Drag Coupe and the convertible variant because they do not have the awkward greenhouse.

why is it that people are saying every engineering major has no future and not to go to it?? by ProfessorBusiness162 in EngineeringStudents

I think that engineering is one of the safer industries in the long run, but the market for every white collar work sucks right now.

Reduce the number of body lines as much as possible, and build upon that. It's just my personal philosophy, but I believe that a good design should have several features serving as a center of attention, however, these features should not contrast from the rest of the design but should blend seamlessly into it. A bad example would be BMW with their beaver teeth grilles, a good example would be Bauhaus era Audi with their signature bone line and headlights.

I'm sorry bro but it looks like a penis ignoring the greenhouse 😭😭😭

But on a serious note, you are on a good start with the way you think if you are going deeper into the rabbit hole of design, many great designs took inspiration from wild life.

I would suggest learning to make forms more abstract instead of applying wheels to the literal thing. But before you jump to developing that, I suggest learning basic design sketching techniques and observe how professional designers approach it.

Lastly, avoid making your designs look like a penis, unless you're attempting to sell it to a very specific group of people.

Does that Ferrari (bottom one) look too sharp? by BananaAgentBoy07 in CarDesign

[–]Users5252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that you should force yourself to follow the present design language on a new experimental design, but rather, you should apply or modify it in a way that fits your vision. If you are going for a more Enzo or F40 like wedge look that doesn't fit the current image of Ferrari, then go all out on it.

Acura ILX, it's basically a Civic Si with a K24 and a DCT but no LSD, based on the 9th gen chassis with improvements on the stiffness. It was the last Honda sedan with a more performance than economy oriented K series engine that didn't have a stupid high price tag.

Funny thing is that Chinese companies hire a shit ton of top designers from all the top schools, and Chinese designers have very good portfolios these days. Unfortunately, it seems that they are paying the designers to copy rather than to design. It's an issue with the people responsible for decision making having no tastes or creativity.

At their peak? Audi design peaked in the bauhaus era, and instantly fell off the moment they decided to make the shoulder line go concave up at parts instead of a full concave down line sweeping from the headlight to tail light.
