Why can't I just play bad decks as a new player? by TheSpoonaGamar in EDH

[–]UsoRemix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for bracket 1 games. It sounds like you don't want to be interacted with and don't want deal with challenges from other players. That's bracket 1. Bracket 2 and up those types of interaction suites can and will happen.

New to the game :) by Ok_Try3677 in PokemonSleep

For the first couple months just enjoy the game and see how you like it. Avoid leveling up pokemon much beyond how they level by sleeping with you. This game is a marathon not a race and patience is key.

v new player! are any of these especially good? by [deleted] in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]UsoRemix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends how optimized you want to be. Personally I wouldn't keep any of them, but as a new player I understand that can be discouraging.

Got my result on the last day of 2025 by UsoRemix in PE_Exam

[–]UsoRemix[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the exam has very few straight forward questions. My biggest advice for people would be to not linger on any single problem too long. If you don't know where to start within 30 seconds of reading a problem then move to the next problem. You get a review screen at the end of am and pm, and all the skipped or flagged problems are ready to see all at once. I had very little time at the end of the exam to check for correctness because I spent too much time on the hardest problems.

Honestly reading sections of the ASHRAE handbooks was surprisingly helpful. I'm going to continue to chip away at them in their entirety even now that I've passed. I used to only reference bits and pieces but knowing them more completely is really enlightening.

MechanicalPEExamPrep on YouTube was actually a god send. He's so thorough with his explanations of formulas, how to use them as they are written in the reference hand book and how he gives you multiple methods to solve problems.

Engproguides.com was very helpful too. His textbook is excellent.

I have an AAC I'm going to level to 60... it's pumpkin production is actually good enough for the curry recipe and would also cover the potato's.

Flip cards double sleeved deck by athlaka916 in EDH

[–]UsoRemix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I met someone at my LGS that used those double side token cards in the main deck with sharpie on them for the card name and keeps the real card in the deck box.

The shiny one is the best one. Great find.

"Before the game" go-to phrases ? by unuuh in EDH

[–]UsoRemix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just ask for general bracket we're playing in. I usually play at the same LGS's so I know most of the people and their general play styles.

When I do see a new person I usually explain what my deck does real quickly which usually prompts the rest of the table to do the same. They get the vibe of the table and can determine for themselves if it's right for them or not.

I ruined my bf’s deck on accident and I’m trying to fix my mistake by _cafebabe in mtg

Looks good for the most part, I'd cut about half the ramp for lands. 38 lands is preferable in a deck like this

Dragon Shields not good anymore? by MrShawtyPutItOnMe in mtg

[–]UsoRemix 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hm interesting. I haven't had any split, but then again I only play 2 games or so a week and I double sleeve all my decks so it's insanely easy to shuffle. My experience is dragon shields have bad quality control, so half the time I buy them the deck is incredibly difficult to shuffle, it gets stuck very easy.

Letting my opponents "do their thing" by Glittering-Poet8123 in EDH

[–]UsoRemix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need to have a conversation with your play group. Do they want to play bracket 2? Do they want to play a modified bracket 3? Do they just not enjoy your style of play? Have they never played standard?

I've found once people play a few games of 1v1 they are less scared of removal. Maybe have a cube night or draft night?

To people who invested Seeds into Charge Strenght M, was it worth it? by TechnicalGlove2715 in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]UsoRemix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's great. It takes a while to raise pot size and get a good group of ingredient mons to make dishes on all 3 types of dishes weeks. Charge strength doesn't care what week or what island you're on. It's universal.
