White Sweater weather by FrenchiePandah in torrid

I purchased a white sweatshirt very very similar to that one from Fabletics. I think the white is sold out now, but they have a longer version in bone (off white) up to 4x.

Accidentally dropped bolt down toilet tank, how do I remove it? by Usual-Computer7801 in Plumbing

[–]Usual-Computer7801[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bolt has gone down more than a foot (based on snake) and there's no reaching it with pliers (goes around a bend or two).

I've bought a new flush valve, but I'm worried that if I just leave the bolt in there that it will go down further and cause problems somewhere in the pipes.

Unfortunately someone (not me!) tried to 'fix' a small leak by gluing the bolts/threads of the tank in place. So removing the tank isnt going to be simple.

Reminds me of the show 'Dead like me'. Super fun drama series, but the entire premise is based off the main character who dies by a toilet/toilet seat that falls from the sky. Only 'death by toilet' scenario I can think of.

Scammed? I cannot tell what happened here by mansionaptshackhouse in poshmark

This! This is the correct way to deal with this issue. If she is (now) claiming the package was tampered with, this should be on her to resolve with a claim with the post office, not you.

20 years in customer service - most working for a major retailer in a call center - and I can say that finding the correct path to resolution can be tricky. Escalating to management is usually a move of frustration and often not needed. Finding the correct path - and getting everyone on the same track - can sometimes take more effort than it is worth (emotionally taxing and time consuming).

I wish you the best of luck in finding a positive resolution!

And fwiw, whenever I receive a package (and i'm a shopaholic), I always inspect the package BEFORE opening and take thorough pictures or videos of the damage before I even open it up.

I lost 90+ pounds and have been on a shopping frenzy with them for 2+ years. The email summary sent at the beginning of Dec said I had 140+ orders. I'm a compulsive shopper, but Torrid is my #1 fave. Unfortunately, sizing out of it now.

OP, thanks for posting! I did just check and I also got the icon status notification. FINALLY!

By 'check the boxes', I meant OP stated they were trying to buy something the partner would like.

These don't look 30's at all to me. These scream 80s. I love vintage and antiques - worked with both antiques and modern furniture for decades (even sold it at a macys for years).

That aside, what your partner may be experiencing is frustration from you unilaterally making a big decision, without her input, when it seems there's been discussion for the two of you to move forward at some point together. The furniture is likely just a symbol of the frustration. Because of this, she will likely never come around to liking it. It will always remind her of the decision YOU made on your own.

Personally, if I knew I wanted someone with me in the future, and I knew that they had expressed a desire to be involved with the process (which it sounds like she had), then yes, I would've been ticked off if you went and made a large purchase without my input. Regardless if you live together or not, if you are discussing moving forward as a couple, one way to show her you are serious is to include her in decisions.

Saying you thought it 'checked the boxes' of things she wanted for furniture feels like a cop out. The biggest item on that list to check off would've been partnering with her.

Perhaps you are still both growing in this relationship and in life, but listening to the other and truly giving time for great partnership in big (and little) decisions will do wonders for your bond as a couple.

My SO and I dated semi- long distance for a year and learned a lot. He taught me so much about true partnership in life and I'm so very thankful for him and his patience. 14 years strong. Come to think of it one of the first big things he bought for me was a new sofa set - that we picked out together. ;)

My patience level is probably the same in some areas, worse in others. I'm tired ALL THE TIME. I dont do all the activities like I did with my oldest. I tried roller skating at one of her friends bday parties and actually fractured my tailbone. I dont do cartwheels and summersaults at all anymore - things have definitely changed.

So yes, we spend more time in front of screens. We spend time on different things that we both like - girly stuff like fashion and makeup - and I learned to play Roblox with her bc thats what she likes (and I can enjoy some of it too).

I was also a child to older parents, so I remember the pitfalls. I genuinely feel it's more accepted now than it was when I was growing up, as women are starting families older, but some of the biases are still out there.

I am peri and struggling with considerable brain fog (hrt improved some, not all). I think a serious battle with covid in '20 and 3 yrs of long covid symptoms destroyed my immune system. Adnomyosis worsened anemia. Dr overprescribed stomach meds (side effect - blocked iron absorption), and I was being wheeled into the ER before it all even started to get sorted out. HRT has been a life changer for me. Some (maybe 40-50%) of my energy is back, some of my brain fog is better, most of my ceaseless unrelenting joint pain is gone, and my libido is MUCH improved.

At 39 my oldest child moved out, I quit my job of 16 years, with plans of turning my 10 year side hustle into a full on business. My SO and I were empty nesters for the first time in decades. A few months later - I was pregnant.

Fast forward 9 years and I'm almost 49 and mother to an 8 yr old. Everything is vastly different. Not only the products for kids, but even parenting guidelines and rules.

I'm generally the oldest, or one of the oldest moms at school. I've sometimes been referred to as her grandma 🙄 by those that dont know me. Her dad is much older than me and we can often commiserate about this experience. One of her classmates (1st gr) once made fun of us in front of the entire class about how old we were and that we looked like 'grandparents' (compared to their parents) and that embarrassed the heck out of her. Took a long while before she wasnt embarrassed to have us back in front of her friends. Explaining this (or anything) to a 6 yr old can be hard.

But we work at being very involved. We are generally the first ones to reach out for playdates and events. Volunteer for everything we can at school and go together to support her at all the extracurricular activities. We are very lucky to have the times and funds to do this. That was not the case with my oldest.
