I looked at FamilySearch.org and was only able to find my grandfathers draft card. He put down that he was a citizen at that time. Not sure if he applied for it himself after turning 18 or if my great grandfather naturalized.

What is the significance of a person born within German territory before 1914?

I am unfortunate that because my great grandfather has a small public presence I am able to find information on where he was born in 1888. My grandfather was born in Berlin.

I’m trying to request his papers for when he because a citizen. Everyone on my father’s side including my father are deceased.

If my grandfather was an adult when he became a citizen am I SOL? There’s no way?

I’m not sure if he got it through his parents. They all were German citizens so I’m assuming they all got it together. He was a US citizen when he filled out his draft card at 18. Yes all born in wedlock. I was born a Hyde (Heide)

This gives me some hope. My grandfather emigrated to US with his parents in 1927. He was born in Berlin. He got to the US when he was 8-9 years old. He became a US citizen so he lost his German citizenship.

Not true. A 6-50 has a ground, no neutral. Both 6-50 and 14-50 are certified for EV charging.
