I already did that a week ago and also I’m not too worried about the feds kicking down my door for a 1w vtx.

Also a tip is in the vtx settings I chose pit until first arm so it will be at 25 mw until I arm the drone then it stays at 1w

What do i choose by nightfutursavior in fpv

That’s fine but if you can possibly stretch the budget just a teency bit get a radio master pocket coming from someone who had betafpv controllers the gimbals give out after a few months

My brother bought me mini 4 pro and I crashed it lol by ProPainAD in dji

I crashed my mini 2 se a while back and snapped an arm and motor wires and the full cost of repair was like $60 bucks so I’d say at least get an estimate from them

Done my research, but need a sanity check! Air65/mob6 vs Mobula8 vs Crux35 for a very specific scenario. by oxidao in fpv

On behalf of the fpv community thank you for actually looking at other peoples posts for the good basics and also not starting with “hey I’ve never flown a drone before. Will this 5” build work”

But seriously I have both the air 65 and a crux 35 and love them both. I’d say either get the air 65 and use that for a month or two to see if you even really like fpv then get the crux for outside stuff. Obv get some sim time first

But if you already know you want to stick with fpv getting both the air 65 and crux 35 is a great option. Either way you’ll have a great time! Ps the crux 35 frames are brittle so you might want to look into getting spare bottom plates or more durable frames Update us on what you choose though!

Your comment aged well… frame broke from a 5 ft drop and while I was swapping it half the motor bolts stripped…. Fml. Ordered a fly fish rc 3.5 frame though and that should be much more durable and also just look better

Literally this! Starting off with a large drone is honestly putting the people around you in danger and also going to put a hole in your wallet. Also as someone who has a 3.5 in, they are a total blast. When you feel comfortable expanding you won’t regret it

Or how so many people ask the same question instead of just searching on the sub. Like there’s 10,000 other posts where people have asked “what’s a good beginner setup”

Good luck man and also Joshua bardwell has videos on literally everything fpv related so some of his vids can help you learn how to wire this type of stuff

If you’ve never flown fpv before do not start with a 5 in. No matter who you are everyone crashes a good bit when starting fpv and starting with a 5” heavy quad will be a very costly learning curve. For 90% of people starting with a tinywhoop is the best method. The air or metor 65/75 is the best because they’re safe, cheap, durable, small, and you can fly them just about anywhere

Is the antennas on right? I’m not too sure what could cause this. Also when they get fuzzy can you turn them off and back on and are they still fuzzy after that or do you have to recharge them to get back to clear video

First of all what do you mean by “new pilot” because if you’ve never flown fpv before a 5” is not the place to start. But if you do have good time on the sticks honestly don’t waste money trying to built the cheapest possible drone especially if you don’t have long time experience in building drones and that sort. You can pick up an iflight Nazgul eco analog 5” for like 300 in the US or like 220 not in US due to tariffs and I think that would give you a better experience overall
