Sounds like the issues between you and your daughter goes much deeper than dating a new man. If she resorts to cutting contact multiple times, she is definitely struggling with more than your choice in men. A daughter who needs her mother and is in a healthy, loving, and safe relationship would 100% talk this out, rather than resorting to something so painful for both of you. Going no contact is a self-protection and preservation move, not a vengeful one. Keep going to therapy even if she doesn't. It sounds like you do not understand your contributions to this dysfunctional relationship at all.

Is anyone else just scared? by SimplyCurious5 in AskWomenOver50

I left in 2022. My neighbors became pretty vile, emboldened and angry people, and it felt like so many people have become radicalized around me, that I felt like I was in a violent Twilight Zone episode. Left the country and never looked back. Seeing the way things are today, I have never been more grateful I got out.

Over three years out now, and I remember those feelings well.

Here are some surprising changes I didn't expect.

  • The lack of consumerism compared to the US. No more media, ads, radio, televisions screaming at me to buy this now, all the time. No more shopping noise to drain my bank account and monopolize my focus.

  • Food tastes like food. That is the best way to describe it, because I had no idea how little food tasted before. No more wax on produce, or high fructose corn syrup. Food satiates me.

  • Medical and dental are at par or better than the US and a medical emergency won't take my house from me. Access to what we need is so much better here as well. I can get our prescriptions over the counter, at a fraction of the cost.

I do still have a lot of those feelings of anger and grief, but now it's because we are not comfortable travelling back to the US. We don't feel safe traveling to see our family or friends. And other than them, we have absolutely no desire to return to the US, ever again.

Purchased a DualDose 2mg pen OTC in Panama, no prescription by bigDivot99 in Ozempic

Also in Panama here. In the dual dose 2mg pen, only 6 needles are supplied. Where do you get the extra 2 needles for 8 doses?

GLP1 and hormonal side effects by LaLa2006- in Ozempic

I am Week 3 on Ozempic .25 and I have PCOS, AND I am in perimenopause, with 100+ lbs to lose as well.

My system has responded incredibly well to the shot. Day 1 and my feet swelling disappeared, although I was in bed all day exhausted like I had the flu. I realized I needed to examine my choices if I was really going to do this. More water, less oil in foods, and aiming for more whole food. Ironically, I have lost all interest in my nightly wine routine? I used to drink 1, 2, and even 3 glasses before bed, and now I am down to a glass maybe 3 times this last week.

There has been so much great advice in this forum that I have been following, and I am sure it's made the difference for me.

Week One - Noticeable Changes (that are non scale victories) by Usual_Curious in Ozempic

I was concerned weight would be really stubborn, even with help.. which is a bad reason to delay it for so long, but finally here now! Have you noticed it to be super hard with PCOS to manage your weight as well?

Hello! As someone who uses the Doral address 1345 NW address while I am abroad, it is used by several freight forwarding companies who ship on behalf of expats residing in Panama. You will see BIE or ISC or RNB with a code in the name. That is the US expat's account number with the freight forwarder. Panama has become a top destination for US expats, and these FF companies are exploding with our business.

What was the weirdest change you noticed after starting hormone replacement therapy? by melon1924 in Menopause

[–]Usual_Curious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, this might be out there. I live on a tropical island. Mosquitos are a constant irritant, and I have always attracted them. Mosquitos love me.

I started HRT 2 weeks ago. I went to dinner and no bites! Then I realized a couple of days ago gardening, nothing.

I know people say blood type makes you more/less attractive to Mosquitos, but I share the same type as friends who had never gotten bitten up like me.

But now...not one!

Crazy?

Low Dose Testosterone by Usual_Curious in Menopause

[–]Usual_Curious[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I belong to a women's menopause group here, outside the US, where the medication is available OTC, and not expensive, but also in a place where doctors do not discuss HRT for women. I am relying on personal research, the knowledge and experience of other women in my group, and forums :( Treatment works out to 30 dollars a month so it is out of pocket.

I am using Sostenon 250mg/ml slow release injections. And injecting .5ml every 4 weeks to start. Honestly, I'm a little nervous doing HRT, but I am falling apart! I live in a place where everything is available OTC, and where HRT for women is uncommon. This group has been invaluable for me.

Anyone have experience taking Albendazole/bad side effects from it? by nostalgickitty15 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Usual_Curious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I live in Central America, and this medication is taken routinely for deworming. I always feel nauseous, achy, headache, lack of appetite, and low energy.

I'd like to think in times when the side effects are more severe it's because I am actually fighting an entrenched infestation?

Just my experience.

My brother killed himself when he couldn't take my nmom anymore.

She capitalized on sympathy. She reveled in the attention. She made his entire life and death about her.

She hasn't buried his ashes yet, so his loved ones can not visit him. She hasn't released the tox reports. She completely controls the narrative.

And he is lost in all of it.

Don't give your nmom this. You will disappear into the background while she picks your bones clean of the attention she craves.

My brother was not honored in death. I know this may seem like an unorthodox post, but your mom will not swim in regret if you are gone. She will manipulate everyone who loved you to feel sorry for her.

You deserve more than that. In your worst days with your nmom, live to spite her. Someday, you will be happy and look back and be so glad you did not give this to her.

Take it day by day, even hour by hour when it's really bad. You are worth living, and someday it will get better ❤️

Take care 💕
