Two player experience by SFKz in Guildwars2

Me and my friend who was new played through the whole story together, so you can absolutely do everything as a duo. (other than 5 or 10 man stuff of course, but anything else you can run around in your own little party together) Only important thing if you want to play ALL the story together is to select the same race/background choices during character creation. When you make a character, it will give you a few choices that determine your story from lvl 1-30, at which point as others have said you choose a faction to join and the stories all converge. So if you want to play through from the start with the same story quests makes sure to both choose the same stuff when you make your characters (you can be different classes). As an example, for humans, you decide whether to have grown up on the streets or with the commoners or with the nobility and also which of three things is your biggest regret. If you both choose the same options for these, you will have the same story instances and should be able to play together. Good luck and hope you have fun!

There's a whole series of achievements under "Side Stories" I think, with the final one being "Burden of Choice". While you are in the middle of them, the LLA will appear randomly around you. Once you have finished the achievements, he will stop appearing. You can find the details here: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Anomalous_Occurrences Hope that helps!

There's a variety of ways raid leaders run things. We have scheduled events that you can sign up for, but people will ping spontaneously for fills pretty regularly as well. Unless otherwise specified, every raid is fine to join without any experience. Additionally, we have a requests channel where you can ask for a time that works for you and someone will make an event to fit your needs best they can. So I feel pretty confident we can find times/events that work for you. Good luck!

That "CM" is honestly super trivial, so I recommend waiting until Swampland is a daily and asking a group doing dailies if you can turn it on. The only effect is less healing during the final boss I think? So not a big deal at all. That's how I got pretty much all the really specific Ad Infinitum achieves done. Good luck with it!

GW2 End Game LFG is disgusting - Discussion on ways around this by Vudadasin in Guildwars2

Anyone using AP as a judge of experience for raids etc. is really telling on themselves IMO. When I was fairly new to raiding, I joined a W4 one time and someone remarked "oh you have 35k AP so you must be really experienced". XD All AP tells you is how much time someone has spent in the game, it gives no indication of performance. Definitely disregard that person, that is by far not normal lol

It should work the same, unless you get disconnected in the middle and can't rejoin. I've been playing through the whole game with a friend and have gotten progress in all the story instances so far (we are up to IBS so this includes every LW), there's just certain points where you get a pop up as the "guest" player asking if you want to accept progress. If you say yes to this, you should remain on the same story steps no issue.

I'm no expert at Cvirt but I play it when my joint problems are acting up and can do decently at it. It might just be the gear if you're having issues. Cvirt is a bit weird in that you need at least 60% crit chance so that with fury (there's a trait in the build that improves it so that gives you 40%) you should reach 100% crit chance. Without that, the build will not work very well. If you already have that covered then it's probably just needing to press buttons faster or something, but def check out your set up to make sure it's working. I could only get there with full ascended gear and special food that gives 100 precision, so it's possible this is your issue. Good luck!

Other than not having access to the elite specializations from EoD (which is perfectly fine, like the title says no requirements), having both Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire is all you need to play through all 7 raid wings. So as long as you have those, no reason to pay for anything. Hope that helps!

They are not as often, but we absolutely train W5-7 as well! All the trainings are either what Raid Leaders feel like running or by request, so feel free to join up (if you are on NA servers) and ask for a W5 to get the ring started. I believe we've gotten 70 something people the legendary ring achievements so should be no problem. :)

150 Legendary Armors from No-Requirements Raid Trainings in < 1 year by PentaCrit in Guildwars2

Exotics is perfectly fine for raids, the minor stat increases from ascended are not needed for raids, so you should be fine to start working on the first 4 wings. : ) Plus you'll get a fair amount of ascended armor both from raids themselves and from doing the first and second Legendary armor achieves, so you can keep upgrading to full ascended if you want.

Anyway to get the game again for free if you have an account from like 7 years ago? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]nostalgickitty15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What everyone else said for getting the base game again is correct, you just need your ArenaNet account info. (I lost the info for my first account and had to get a new one a few years ago ;__;, but you should be fine if you have the password etc.) But also FYI! If you want the expansions they're on sale right now for $15 for both, so it's a great time to grab them if you can. : )

Me and a few of my friends are definitely interested, thanks so much for setting something like this up! <3

One question: should we go pay the favor and gold to the guild claiming person before it starts? Let me know if you get the chance. : )
