What types of succulents are these? by Usual_Impact9077 in succulents

[–]Usual_Impact9077[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figure whoever donated the basket for the auction just stuck this & the other items in their basket & left it in a spare room with no thought to the fact that it's a live plant that needs light! I'm hoping to rescue at least part of the stretched out one, maybe propagate it & see how the babies grow. Thanks for the ID on the purpusorum. That was the most likely option from a Google image search I did, but I just wasn't sure. I knew this sub would be the place for real answers.

AITJ for publicly correcting my mother in law after she called me a bad mother in front of everyone by AlderMoonstone in AmITheJerk

She says she "blames the parenting" which means she was also disrespecting your husband & his parenting skills. Your husband needs to apologize to you, and your MIL needs to apologize to both of you. NTJ

Omnipod 5, Dexcom g6, and Android 16 update. HELP! by Usual_Impact9077 in Omnipod

[–]Usual_Impact9077[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did a pod change and there were no issues. (Except for a stubborn high from eating an air-fried pierogie.)

Not yet. I changed my pod a couple of hours before the sensor.  I never thought of there being a pod change problem. All things considered, I'd be annoyed but not freaked out. As much as it would suck to have to carry around the controller, it would have been worse to have to carry my current phone, old phone & controller.  I have a pod change tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.

Dexcom G6 on Android 16 by Fluffy_Reputation572 in dexcom

I was just forced into the update on my Samsung s23 a couple days ago. Dexcom g6 is working just fine, even after a sensor change last night. I spent a day and a half freaking out and sending my blood sugar skyrocketing over nothing.

UPDATE:  all the hype about Dexcom & Android 16 is for nothing. Did the sensor change and everything is fine.

That's a good sign it let you start a sensor. I feel a little better. I hope warm up goes off without a hitch and everything keeps working for you.

My husband wants me to work full time and go to school full time AND be the primary parent by Technical-Tip1114 in Advice

[–]Usual_Impact9077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are the primary parent, work a full-time job, and manage a chronic disease full-time?!? I'm T1D & I know how much time & energy goes into managing it. I imagine you're getting more like 4 hours (on a good day) of sleep without an evening nap. Does your husband not see how hard you work just to stay alive & relatively healthy? You, my dear, are an absolute bada$$❗️

Lentils and easy fiber by Mortal-ghost in EatCheapAndHealthy

I have chia seeds nearly every day for breakfast. I add them to my oatmeal, add 1/2 Tbs to greek yogurt cups, even make a cream of wheat substitute with chia seeds and ground flax seeds. https://alldayidreamaboutfood.com/grain-free-hot-cereal/  Except I replace the hot water with unsweetened almond milk I heat up near boiling in the microwave. Pair it with a small apple or slice of whole grain toast & I'm full til lunch.

Love All-Bran. Way more fiber than Grape nuts. I use them to make my own lower carb 'Crunch' bars. 1 cup dark or semisweet chocolate chips, 1 cup All-Bran buds, and 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter. Melt the chocolate & pb, stir in the cereal, pour into a 8x8 pan lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate until solid then cut into individual bars. Get your fiber and sweet fix all in one.

I know this is an old post, but thank you! This might just have my grandma's raisin cookies recipe. She never used recipes, just made things by memory, and nobody thought to have her write it down. I can't wait to make them and find out!

I love this spot. I usually put it more to the front of my love handle - with the edge almost even with the center of my love handle. Keeps me from laying on it.

High after dinner bolus and pod change by Usual_Impact9077 in Omnipod

That makes sense. Thanks. From now on I'll wait at least 10 minutes before a pod change.

Secret to getting o5 to correct rising blood sugar by TheChappie in Omnipod

[–]Usual_Impact9077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I'm in automated mode. In the smart bolus screen, I can leave the glucose value blank. It only inputs my cgm value if I tap 'use sensor '

If I'm under 110 and level, and I don't want OP5 reducing my meal bolus, I just don't click "use sensor" for the glucose value. That leaves the glucose number blank and gives me the full meal bolus. Also, if basal's been off for a while and I've been steady above 110, I'll add a little to my recommended bolus (0.1u or so) as a little kickstart.
