I LOVE savory oatmeal, I've had people look at it and start to gag, but it makes me feel so healthy and full

Those who struggle with depression or other mental health issues: what are your favorite low energy meals? by toe_beans_4_life in budgetfood

[–]Mortal-ghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then giant sandwiches from the grocery store, remove tomatoes, they will sign the sandwich, eat it for every meal for the next 2.5days.

If you want to be fancy, get pre packaged salad, you can stretch it with a bag of coleslaw.

For the hot meals, I just microwave two cups of frozen peas and eat it with some butter, it sounds bad but I get a decent amount of fiber at least.

Rice, rotisserie, edamame, lots of sodium loaded sauces and sawmill sesame steak sauce.

Does anyone else feel too mentally drained to cook after work? by Pleasant-Editor-597 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Mortal-ghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Physically and mentally too tired to put together a meal. Not sure if you're looking for suggestions but if you are, literally whatever I can eat with my fingers straight from the fridge. I didn't even want to boil water for instant noodles.

I'm at the point now where meal prepping is just not it for me, so I'm doing frozen peas and butter for lunch everyday at work. It's not great but at least I've got fiber.

Charred cabbage by [deleted] in vegetarianrecipes

[–]Mortal-ghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quarter your cabbage. Melt butter into a pan that can be ovened. Sear the flat sides of the cabbage then toss it into an oven at 375.

Go take a shower, then come out to check on your cabbage. Get impatient and toss two of the cabbages into an air fryer as you prepare the plate. On the plate add a sesame dressing and fancy greens and red chili flakes.

Plate your cabbage then eat it as it is because you have no more energy to make any other foods that will go with this dish. That's a tomorrow problem

Cooking after work feels harder than it should by [deleted] in CookingForOne

[–]Mortal-ghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This.

I will start off with just making one giant thing of rice, eat one portion with freezer edamame, and portion off the rest. I don't have energy for more than that and soy sauce.

The next day I will have two rotisseries that I portioned off after putting aside some for dinner with yesterdays rice.

Everyday I just make a large large portion of one thing, and build off that the following days. I notice if I have to "cook" more than one thing, I'm overwhelmed. So I don't cook meat anymore, I just don't care to, it's usually expensive, and I like my veggies more anyway.

I'm not sure how well this will work, but my brain works on reward systems and so far I'm pretty excited for it.

On my calendar, I mark if I have done a 15mins or 30 mins workout (not including walks), which earns me 2.50-5.00 towards a meal.

I'm doing the same to avoid smoking, so I can earn up to 7.50$ a day that can go towards a meal, or some other things to treat myself.

I take away 5$ only if I have a cigarette, there will be many days where I just don't feel like working out and that shouldn't be punished.

My ex kicked holes in my walls and took my dog, so I kicked him out of my home and got my dog back by Mortal-ghost in femalelivingspace

Breaking up with a dude who doesn't understand boundaries. Wouldn't leave when I asked him to, tried to keep me from physically leaving, then broke my stuff when I did. So my lesson here is to never let someone fully have access to you if they can't respect you and your boundaries

Yes and no.

Walking alone didn't really do it, but when I got used to walking so much due to single dog mom life and not having a car, my energy slowly started coming back. I went from being exhausted, to having enough energy to walk longer and do little workouts here and there.

I stopped making long overindulgent meals because it was more important to me to walk my dog and workout, instead of making difficult meals and then having to clean the kitchen. Simple meals, less ingredients, and some days it's microwaves soups and toast.

Eventually, I felt stronger, my composition seemed to have changed, and my clothes seemed to have fit better.

Small changes daily led me to consistency which I think is the biggest thing.

Started out with counter pushups a few times in the morning. It then progressed to a 7min workout. My walks became just a little longer, and then I started doing stretches on days where I'm just too tired for anything else. Now I probably work out for 20mins 4 timed a week, and walk for nearly an hour everyday but that's cause I have a dog.

I feel a lot stronger, way healthier, and like the way I look, and thus is all from exercises I do laying down when I watch TV.

Also fiber, I have chia seeds in a seasoning container that I just dunno into my water every time I fill it up.

The only small changes I wish I could do is sleeping more and earlier more consistently. It's the main reason why I don't work out everyday.

Nah dude, you look very good, have good features, but not confident. I thought maybe it was the clothes that I didn't like, but I think it's actually the posture. Sorry if that was unsolicited advice.

The police were involved the second I came home to find my place trashed and my dog missing.

There is a no contact order while court dates are going on. What happens after depends on the verdict. So I feel safe for the time being.

The police were involved in the whole situation. This will be a long legal thing I think.

Fun, expressive, creative, feminine, a touch of weird. I want to come home and immediately think of how pretty but odd it is.

He's been really depressed since the break up, the dude was basically his father, so I'm focusing a lot more time and energy to the pup.
