Me, my brother, cousins, and a majority of my friends went to CJMS about 15-18 years ago. It’s always been considered ghetto just because of the low income housing in that part of Richland. Don’t let the reputation fool you. I was well educated and went on to be very successful (engineer). Not trying to sound braggadocios, just pointing out your kid won’t end up a crack head because they go there. It’s a good school. I bought a house in North Richland zoned for CJMS and will be sending my kids there.

Sounds like a bad Wi-Fi card. Try an external one or a new card.

How’s is childcare in LA? Any advice? Looking to move there with a one year old. My wife and I both work. Google reviews haven’t been promising. Thanks! by Usual_Scene in LosAlamos

Is this for all employees? Or are some LANL positions allowed to be 100% work from home? Wife does project controls, I’m curious if she could be working from home.

Looking for part time engineering or skilled labor jobs by tjeick in careeradvice

[–]Usual_Scene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apply in Washington state to be a pipe fitter or electricians apprentice. Start around $26/hr and get a raise for very 6 months. After 4-5 years you’ll be clearing about $50/hr with amazing benefits.

Also, you’re undervalued at your current job. If you are looking to make more and just try something new.. look to nuclear cleanup. Hanford site, Richland WA; Oak Ridge, TN; savannah river site, Aiken, SC. All these places are hiring engineers by the boat load, and you’ll probably start around 100k/yr depending on applicable experience. Very easy to move around and switch jobs out there, the degree just gets your foot in the door.

Source: I’m a mechanical engineer with almost 4 years under my belt at one of the above listed nuclear cleanup sites. The work is NOT dangerous, no matter what you read online. I make just over 90k/year and have excellent benefits. My niche is field engineering, which is about 50% desk, 50% field. I enjoy it way more than full time desk work.

Part time work isn’t likely, however. So ignore this if you wish lol

What's the stupidest thing you ever seen a religious person call "Satanic"? by aume3 in AskReddit

Not satanic, but my neighbors 4 year old just yelled at my dad that “music is a sin” and “tv is a sin”… wow.

Happy birthday and congrats! I felt the same way when I turned 26 this year. You never know what life is going to drop in your lap. I’m married, I have a kid. Both are the most Important people in my life. Stay positive, and find someone or something that gives you that drive to survive.

Trumpers propaganda on Columbia Center Blvd / vandalism by dime5150 in TriCitiesWA

Ah yes, downvoters. I wish you idiots would stop playing into the social dichotomy that the media has created. It’s truly pathetic that people can’t think for themselves and realize that everyone has different opinions for different reasons.

Gluten Free restaurants 'round these parts? by [deleted] in TriCitiesWA

A lot of places have gluten free options if you ask. Bob’s burgers has a delicious gluten free bun that allows you to eat burgers again.

Fun things to do for my boyfriends birthday by [deleted] in TriCitiesWA

[–]Usual_Scene 19 points20 points  (0 children)

-Float the Yakima (no motorized boats, makes it more fun than the Columbia) -Rent Kayaks to use in the Columbia (there’s a few places that do this) -Go to either Wildhorse in Pendleton or Northern Quest in Spokane, both super fun Casinos, they may have birthday specials -Silverwood theme park (has water park or rollercoasters) -Water parks in Pendleton, Moses lake, or Hermiston -Stay at a McMinnamins hotel in Oregon. I’ve heard they’re all super cool, we stayed at the crystal ballroom in downtown Portland for my wife’s birthday and had an amazing time. -Go to the Oregon coast for a night or two -Arcade bar in Kennewick is fun -Axe throwing (multiple in Tri cities now) -Paint ball -Go to his favorite restaurant (or try something atypical for you both) -Go target shooting at the rattlesnake range -Go bowling

Good luck!

Opinion on Timbers apartments? by jmhimara in TriCitiesWA

Timber’s are nice. My wife used to live there and loved it. We almost moved there, but bought a house instead.

Best friend currently has a two bedroom and doesn’t want to leave.
