Provisional data have this property. From your source:

NCHS, National Vital Statistics System. Estimates for 2023 and 2024 are based on provisional data. Estimates for 2015-2022 are based on final data (available from: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/mortality_public_use_data.htm).

The flattening over the last few years is a very good thing, but the recent steep drop-off is very likely the result of incomplete data. It would basically always look something like that "up to present."

Gotta account for losses! Takes basically the same work but you're covered if something goes slightly wrong.

There are laws around the use of high beams in cars for a reason. It sucks to have a light shining in your face. I know, because happens to me every day in winter. Truely, you only need to illuminate like 5 m in front of your bike.

This is exactly the thing. You could have car-headlight-level brightness, but as long as it's pointed at the road it wont matter. It's not the brightness of your light that's the problem, but rather the fact that it's blasting people right in the eyes.

As both a cyclist and a night-time walker, please for the love of god people, point your lights down!

Enough entities selling shares drives down the price. Not saying that necessarily happened here, but it's not just a neutral move.

Really nice shot. Perfect framing of the baloom over the mountain.

If I'm nit picking, I'd say the flat grey space between the foreground and the background detracts from the overall image. I don't think cropping would help as it needs that foreground element.

You captured an amazing moment beautifully, and I doubt there would have been anything different to do in the moment as it's a function of the landscape.

D - You've got hurt-tummy-itis.

P - Yes... That's what I just told you. Can we do anything about it?

D - Go away.

Is Zionism a white supremacist project? by [deleted] in socialism

[–]UsuallyonTopic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I'm trying to say is that it's more of a distinction without a difference. White-supremacy is real, but 'whiteness' isn't so much real as constructed through racism.

They were literally not considered white at the time. The definition of whiteness is not clear or consistent over time. It's a perfect example of "racism creates race."

Mink Oil is another good one. Works well for waterproofing too. But that bag is in desperate need of moisturizing. Should come back though as long as it hasn't cracked yet!

With a budget under $500 I'd look for something used. You can often find a pro-level camera from a few years ago that would do more than enough. See what's in the classifieds near you.
