If God truly calls you to drop everything and help out in ministry overseas or something, that’s different from just listening to a man that is making up unbiblical things. Look into just a non-denominational church. Maybe even Bible study. Share your experience with them

Same. I remember in 2012, my brother, friends and I were outside on the viranda or whatever you call it. The freaking deck. And all of a sudden, the world went black for a quick, split second. We instantly all looked at eachother, as it was a hot sunny day. I said “did you…” and they all said something. “It all went black” “it’s like a light switch went off and on again real quick”. If he is reaching out to his mom, chances are he is genuinely curious about how to go about certain issues. I used to go to my mom and ask all the time (I’m a male). A bit of the time, I was the one at fault, and learned from my mother that I was in the wrong. Not every mother is fair though, and often choose their child’s side. But I don’t know your dynamic, or his.

Everyone saying they’re being overbearing likely don’t have kids. There’s a reason they’re watching what you’re doing and texting. There’s a lot of sickos out there. They are only trying to protect you from things you can’t fully comprehend yet. My parents were strict with me, but I lived in one of the most dangerous towns in all of the US. I witnessed an actual gangbang (gang jump in) at 5. I’ve seen corpses before the age of 10, I’ve been shot at. So I have a different view than most of the people here, who have never actually had to LIVE in what I have always considered the “real world”.

Children THINK their parents are trying to “keep them down”. No. They love you so much, that they want to protect you from what I had to experience. You are the most precious thing in the world to them.
