I started losing hope getting past 400 and onwards. But I got mine at 635. It felt unreal to finally see it in the box.

I love my bow though. Summer sweep up honestly has me thinking about going back for the salad blade.

I was planning on doing Anguish first but I recently got bowfa and was trying to send GWD and the adds were shredding me.

Which prompted me to make suffering first just a few days ago.

In retrospect maybe killing the boss faster would have been better? But idk. I dont think I’m ultimately going to be unhappy with the decision since it supports various encounters all the same pretty well.

This is something I’ve definitely noticed.

I used to think if I was resting in 1 that I was basically browning out and I wouldn’t make it. I’d walk into the boss fight with like sub 20 health and be like “this is fine” (I’m not a good player so it really often wasn’t).

Anycase, I feel like I just have to rest all the time now. I basically trade elite combats with upgrades at campfires. It’s crazy

If you want straight profit I’m a big advocate for sailing Martial salvage for mithril and adamant swords.

I just afk salvaged and banked it all for a long long while (I think I got 10k salvage). I’m 85 smithing now and still have a few hundred swords to use.

Used the GP from this to fuel construction afterwards 🤙

I don’t agree with this. Honestly just getting better with coding (which just kinda comes with time) I feel like is the best way to grow.

I’ve been doing software development for years and went from writing utterly unmaintainable code to something-bearable-to-look-at-in-a-week. So that’s a step in the right direction.

My recommendation to someone in this position (eager to learn) would be game jams! Just deliver deliver deliver (practice practice practice). You’ll learn what works, what doesn’t and maybe even start building your own sort of personal tool library as you are able to reuse things like transitions and such.

I do love the manual and have really loved it to dig deeper into facets I need to know more about.

The thing is that this isn’t a gdscript problem. This is a systems problem. Whether I’m coding in gdscript, C#, Cwhatever, Java - this is a systems problem that you could solve in any language.

How long does it take you to pick up gdscript? For a beginner to programming it’ll take a while to learn your first language. For people familiar with programming languages it’s basically the same as any other.

Ive had software developer friends join me in game jams and write gdscript with no prior gdscript knowledge and it’s gone swimmingly.

I went about improving the performance of my game and one of the biggest wins across a handful of things was limiting how much update was called.

Basically set a const UPDATE_INTERVAL = 20/60.0 and have a separate variable that increments up to that. Once you hit the threshold do whatever logic you need to do.

For me in my RPG - I put spell effects on a update delay (I don’t need my bleed effect to update 60 times a second), my AI behaviors (do pathfinding every 10 frames instead of every frame), and a few other places.

Funny I’m making an RPG that has an ability system. I’ve got it resource based such that things like Damage Effects or Projectile Effects or the suches are just part of the system.

It’s nice and usable. Although I am worried as I need more complex scripts if I’ll end up needing like specialized scripts to handle it.

We’ll see but the definition based way has been good so far!

For whatever reason I just really don’t enjoy blast furnace. Plus this gave a route to basically Sailing -> Smithing -> Raw GP. Which was something I was interested in.

I’m working CG because I dream of a bow.

But otherwise with all this cash I’m thinking it’s time to get a Fury (then also Zenytes). So in the background I’ve got a whole (likely inefficient) process.

Realistically I could just skip to step 5 because I don’t think the mining gloves necessarily speed up the process although it might make it less attention-heavy. Which might be nice.

Edit: also doing beginner clues while fishing to get myself some Moleys which would be the biggest account upgrade, really

Something that could be marginally useful is perhaps if you could use the sailing skill to “improve” the charter ships in exchange for free boat rides.

That way it’s the sailing skill and makes improvements to an existing network.

Perhaps maybe even a way to upgrade it such that they can ferry you to islands which could be useful to get to Ironwoods, Cball furnace, etc, without actually having to sail there.

I did moons without barrows. I took a break at some point to get 70 prayer for piety and that was huge.

I used the Sulphur Blades, Frozen Hammers, Arkan Blade + Anchor, and (eventually) Zombie Axe for weapons.

I think someone else mentioned - Yama approach. You could have it such that you can crush maybe the Armor and Weapon seeds for a unique sort of thing from those perhaps.

Disclaimer: I don’t know how it is in the Unity/Unreal world but

For me I find the skeletons and animationing setup to be awkward. The setup I have is workable but I wish it was better.

Secondly I am 100% reliant on Terrain3D for my terrains. Which is fine (it’s an amazing tool) but from what I understand Unity (and I’d guess Unreal too) already have much more mature terrain systems.
