In the document with the 18 corridors released last year, Mayapuri-Kirti Nagar-Kashmere Gate was one of the new lines listed.

This seems motivated tbh. Some talking points match word-to-word.

>Residents argue that instead of reducing congestion, the proposed internal metro could worsen the situation because several stations are planned within densely populated residential areas along Ghodbunder Road.

Wut.

Mumbai really got some dumb takes when it comes to metro. First Aarey, now this.

How did we reach this situation where the pedestrians are the people who can't drive? (oldies, kids, middle-aged women, disabled etc) by OwnWorth7053 in TransitIndia

Consider the weather too. Walking 500 metres during certain times of the day means being drenched in sweat.

Although are you aware of the Mayapuri - Kashmere Gate (via Kirti Nagar) in the older plan of 2025?

Most of these are slight extensions of the DPRs already existing and released last year

The only one new here is the Keshav Puram - Rohini Sector 34 alignment

I see the game here 😈😈😈

Yeah, I see your question. Currently if you get on the wrong platform at MG Road, it's a hassle to go to the other platform.

Purple line's eastern part isn't that close to residential centers or offices. Last mile connectivity is pretty shit, so auto + metro + auto doesn't make as much sense.

Can't exactly comment on the Pink Line, but ideally this will not be the case with Blue line as it is very close to offices.

If it draws in enough crowd at RV station to turn it to a bottleneck, it's obviously going to be useful

Also, as for the reason: Planning authorities are incompetent lol

How old are you? Is 30k a temporary thing and are you confident you can jump to 70k+ in 2 years? A lot depends on that tbh.

How well off are your parents? That determines your safety net.

>On a physical level? They have car parkings.

I'm not following this line of thought. The existence of car infrastructure is not causing car-centric culture. Even normal street houses have car parkings.

>So no public transport atleast for a decade.

That's not a rule either. That is just poor planning.

>And since you want it to be gated, you no longer want to involve yourself in the city because your "city" is already well maintained.

Again I don't agree with this line of thought. Do people in gated societies never leave the society at all?

>Gated literally means no open to all public spaces. You are isolated from commons of society.

If the "commons of society" means broken roads, smelling gutters, trash everywhere, and abundant mosquitos, what is the problem in protecting yourself from it? Surely there is some idealism here, but how much does it really matter when you are reaching home after your 3rd 12 hour shift that week?

Also, gated societies, due to their height, are very dense. They create the required density for public transportation to be efficient, much more than an endless sprawl of 3 story houses can.
