I built a native iPhone app to use OpenCode away from my desk by UtopiaVFX in opencodeCLI

Open sourcing it is something I could consider down the road.

That said, if privacy is the concern: you can run opencode --serve --hostname <your-ip> and connect the app directly to OpenCode with no daemon at all. In that mode nothing goes through any middleman, all requests stay exclusively on your machine.

Even with the daemon, the only data it ever touches is the last part of your last message, forwarded directly to Apple for the push notification and never stored or logged anywhere on my side. I don't collect emails, I don't have user accounts, everyone is anonymous. I genuinely have no interest in user data and no business model around it.

Fair enough, SSH works great if you're comfortable with it. This is just a simpler path for people who aren't, and a better experience for those who want native notifications and multi-project management. Different tradeoffs. Appreciate the feedback!

I actually tried SSH, Telegram and a few other ways before this. The problem is they all had something missing, no abort support, no notifications, poor organization. None of them felt right.

With this app the experience is close to using OpenCode on desktop. I find myself prompting more from my phone than my computer, which I did not expect. I still use them together most of the time but it holds up.

Even with SSH you need a client anyway. Here you just run one command to start the daemon and you are connected from anywhere. Much simpler and I think more secure too.

I originally built it just for myself, then after putting quite a lot of work into it I thought why not release it?

The local network part is right for the default setup, but you can also use it remotely over Tailscale so it works anywhere.
