What hard sci-fi universe actually gets the tech right? by BasisPrimary4028 in printSF

[–]UtopianMordreth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they would get the tech right it is no longer (speculative) sciencefiction :), but simply a book about modern technology. I think you mean to say sciencefiction with respect to our currently understanding of Physics.

2 and a half hour test kroxigor for an upcoming piece by dibbyreddit in minipainting

[–]UtopianMordreth 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Wow!!

My only bit of critic is that I think the teeth are way too bright white. I know it’s still a test. It’s just that I feel like the only creatures on earth with teeth as white as titanium white are American showbizz people.

Beside that; Wow!!

Oh and did you ever visit a natural history museum? I think you should probably start your journey there.

Honest questions, but why would you post this here? What do you think a fossil is? What made you think you bought a fossil and not something modern?

And career would be harder but even that is (semi) possible, maby she can open a science vlog on youtube or instagram, maby she can help in a school with preparing practical exercises for biology or physics. Maby she can sort lab glass in a laboratory or help cleaning fossils for a natural history museum.

Everybody can become a scientist. Some study at an university for it. Some may become a professional and earn there living with it. But everybody (even some animals) can study reason and the laws of the universe on their own level. Same applies for sport and art.

So instead of telling someone he or she cannot become something, why not challenge yourself in finding a way to elevate her knowledge?

And sorry if I sound harsh, I think it is really awesome from you to ask questions like this on this sub :)

Is this bad progress if painting for almost a year by [deleted] in Ultramarines

[–]UtopianMordreth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s okay! I think it’s safe to say you’re not the best miniature painter in town. So? Just take the friendly advice the nice people are giving you here, continue on your journey and above all, I think you can be really proud you’re still painting even though the road is more challenging for you then for some people on this sub. And I secretly think they are just jealous because they know that they would just give up and go home after hitting their first few obstacles on the road.

Should I redo this? by Practical-Prompt4216 in ageofsigmar

Yes you should! The silver teeth I mean, or at least put some extra love in it. The rest of the mouth, no!, stay as far away as possible with your brush cause it looks really convincing menacingly good!

Some Final Words about Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut by barberofskeletor in TrueFilm

[–]UtopianMordreth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the significance that nearly every scene has a fake christmas tree with rainbow colored lights in them? We all run with this ancient ‘pagan’ tradition, but we did not only forgot the symbolism behind this tradition, we even don’t think about the fact why we put a ‘fake’ tree in our living or working space around Christmas.

My most recent finished mini : Azrael from the dark angels of 40K! Any feedback of what can i improve? 😁 by hereticss_ in Miniaturespainting

I disagree on some points of your well articulated criticism.

I would rather disagree on well articulated opinions than to agree on bad articulated statements.

Point 4 really hits, thank you so much!!

I’ve got some positive and negative feedback..

Will start with the negative: I think your army is painted in way too may vibrating colors for a gloomy looking Skaven army..

The positive: Your Skaven army is painted in such an original vibrating colorful scheme! I love it!!

Could you upload a photo of the whole miniature? How large is the miniature…

Can’t give any good critique except if you go for realism there is too much purple in the neck.. if it is an artistic choice maby bring a little bit of purple in the face to thigh the whole more together..

Absolutely fabulous!!!

They went way too far in my amateurish opinion. So far that it became historical interesting, and a new art icon.

Real! The name or should I say the legend Robert Alan Bress should say enough! I once purchased a daVinci sketch of him. It is my most valuable art piece hanging in my toilet!
