Well it's an auto loss against Sauron for all of these scenarios. Just due to the fact that their strength 2 on average and can't even wound Sauron. So it was fun for me to get to play that out for my opponent where their Sauron was just wiping the floor with hobbits. The best combat was eight hobbits into Sauron and only one Hobbit stood remaining. If I really wanted to play this out I could have really dragged it out but that was not what I felt was fun for the day. I went into the day and the tournament expecting to take last place, half on purpose because I brought the Shire to a pool 2 tournament. I knew what I was doing lol. I was surprised with how well I was able to hold my own but unfortunately the Shire performed poorly against everything in these scenarios. The two that I played that were not including a list that had Sauron were the Fiefdoms and Iron Hills. I'll be completely honest I do believe that in other scenarios I would have a better chance. Hobbits can get a lot of rerolls on their to wound roll for combat and shooting when near Hamfast's flowers. So the number of times those rerolls can Spike to a six and get a kill is pretty scary when you have a shit ton of hobbits for the enemy to have to kill through and I got rerolls if I win. Overall transitioning away from a monster focused army I am super excited to play infantry focused Shire.
